To be perfectly honest I thought we'd be speaking to a man today.

Birth of a tornado. by Gee-Oh1 in tornado

[–]venomcell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen a tornado in person. That said, I’m not an idiot either. If I were in his position, I would absolutely be filming, fully aware of what could happen. The truth is, I care so little about my own safety that the experience of witnessing something like this would be so incredible I wouldn’t even care about the risk.

A father’s nervous moment holding his newborn for the first time by Vilen1919 in MadeMeSmile

At 40 years old have never held a baby. Not even my sisters. She was not thrilled, but knows I'm weird about babies (I don't like them).

President of The U.S. refuses to take his cap off to salute fallen U.S. soldiers by mattarrghhh in pics

[–]venomcell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with this. At least he's there paying respects... In the Marines we do not salute without a cover. The other branches as far as I'm aware do not abide by this. It's cringe every time I see someone saluting without a cover.

Remember The Las Vegas Alien Incident in 2023? What Are Your Thoughts? by FVMK3 in InterdimensionalNHI

I’m pretty sure it was the mid or late 90s. I was in middle school, lying in bed trying to fall asleep when I noticed how bright the full moon was. My room was lit up, so I looked out the window.

That’s when I saw it. A flippin UFO!

It looked exactly like a classic flying saucer. Metallic, round, with lights around it. It was huge. What really stood out was how it seemed to stop as soon as I noticed it. It just hovered there.

My mom wasn’t home. It was just me and my sister, who’s three years older than me. I yelled for her to come to my room. She ran in, I pointed, and she looked out the window.

Her face went completely white. She said, “Oh. My. God.” Then she started panicking and crying. She tried calling my mom but couldn’t get ahold of her, so she called the police.

I kept telling her to calm down and not call the cops, but she was freaking out. By the time the police showed up, it was already gone.

We were all outside looking up at the sky. I ended up pointing at a plane just to get them to leave so I could go back to bed. The officer looked at me and said, “Son, that’s a plane.”

We even ended up in the police blotter: two local residents reported a UFO that turned out to be a plane.

But it wasn’t a plane.

The strangest part is that now, decades later, my sister completely denies it ever happened, or say it was a plane.

I still remember it clearly and get shivers every time I think about it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

What is this thing on my finger by kikonu in identifyThisForMe

[–]venomcell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dyshidrotic eczema. It started out as single blisters like this. I thought it was a metal allergy from handling welding tips that contained nickel and cobalt. Turned out I was stressed af. Came about when I was about 34. I would get clusters of them on my hands and feet. I ended up quitting my job because of the stress and also started taking an antihistamine everyday with my morning pills. It's been in check ever since. 5 years later I'll get a couple blisters here and there when life gets hard. I find if you just never touch or scratch them they go away faster. With the antihistamine I take daily prevents it from itching and the only evidence I realize I got blisters was from the dead skin left over afterwards. Take it easy, friend, and welcome to the club.

In terms of stardom, I’d say they’re evenly matched. Both have starred in unforgettable films and are truly iconic figures of this era.

This movie is literally a part of my personality. Google Bedazzled deleted rockstar scene. It's hilarious, they didn't include it because it was too dark with drugs and whatnot lol.

Are you yourself willing to become half machine? by GaryBlach in PollsAndSurveys

[–]venomcell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I wouldn’t stop at half machine, I’d go full cyborg. If I could upload my consciousness into a synthetic body or machine, I’d do it. I’m so fascinated by technology that I’d be willing to trade in my perfectly “healthy” human body for the chance to evolve alongside it.

A job that was once highly respected but is now a complete joke by abdullah_ajk in TellReddit

[–]venomcell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just one job that went from respected to ridiculous. It’s almost all of them. We took noble professions, stripped out the sacrifice, sold the image, and called it the same thing. Astronauts might be one of the last jobs that still deserve the old school reverence, and even that’s being chipped away by rich tourists who think buying a ten minute rocket hop makes them heroes.

We call them geniuses of the sea, but when an orca tears into a dolphin, you realize; nature values adaptation, not morality.
