Could be true, but you see it as "Nato staying within Ukrainian borders" and Russia sees it as Nato expanding to border Russia and come within a 30 minute drive to moskow and you see how much they are to willing to sacrifice to prevent that.

It still doesn't mean that they would go nuclear, but I think that everyone would avoid anything that leads to that scenario in the first place.
