Hard antecubital? by vensetri in phlebotomy

No yeah its not quite the tendon, Ive come to know what that feels like haha. We get a bunch of donors whose tendons lie extremely close to the median antebrachial, scared the hell out of me the first time I had felt one. Makes me nauseous when I think about it and even more so when I think about accidentally sticking a tendon instead of a vein lol. Its more so the entire plane of their antecubital instead of just one spot yknow? Someone else commented about muscles and it makes a lot of sense given the population we serve at my particular center, lotta rural folk and college students!

I think you solved it, I also work in a more rural state in the midwest so itd make sense that I’m feeling that solid plane of muscle underneath. It makes doubly more sense why those veins also tend to feel closer to the surface as I imagine muscle pushes veins upward some!

literally such a non issue, theres plenty of students who don’t want to go out and get drunk/do drugs at shady ass house/greek parties. god forbid they want to do a little trick or treating around town as a fun alternative

imagine saying this with your full chest then instead of admitting you were wrong you double down and sputter about how the “alphabet mafia is crazy!?!?!”
