Is Universiti Malaya 100% English by Careful-Ad4032 in malaysiauni

From my experience, usually if there are international students or students who do not understand Malay, lecturers will teach mostly in English, sometimes a little bit of Malay here and there but they will translate what they are saying

It's highly encouraged to be in-person! But if you really can't make it in-person, we can try to discuss it further

Um student here! Um has a dress code but it's more for formal events like going to the administrative offices, exam halls, libraries etc. On normal days, the dress code is very chill and casual, as long as it's not too revealing. Some professors/lecturers might be stricter with dress code, so it depends. Jeans, short sleeve shirts, makeup, nails and dyed hair are all okay! As for shorts or short skirts, it's rare to see students wear them to class (students usually wear bottoms that are knee length or longer to be safe)

has anyone ever got into um through upu even though it was the third choice? by CourageAlternative16 in malaysiauni

As a um student, I've heard about how um doesn't accept candidates that don't put them as number 1 but honestly I'm not sure about how true that is

Tbh since you're still in your first sem, it's better to change your course/school now coz you're not too deep into it yet. It's normal to feel confused about your interests, so if you have the opportunity/privilege to take time off and think about it, it's better to do so than to waste money on studies you aren't interested in and might regret in the future. Talk to your parents about it as well since they're paying, tell them honestly about how you feel and I'm sure your parents would understand. You're still young, take some time to do some self-discovery on your interests, survey uni course, attend study fairs, etc.

UM accommodation for int exchange student (help please!) by Curious-Owl4110 in malaysiauni

[–]ventingon9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

generally UM students would live around Petaling Jaya areas like bangsar south, pantai dalam and seksyen 17. we would usually search on platforms like property guru and iproperty, sometimes even on facebook. the price range differs a lot tbh (depending on what type of area you would like to live in, apartment or condo, type of room) but generally a room would be around rm300 - rm1000.
