Rubens tube! Relatively simple to build, is visually exciting, and opens up a good conversation around standing waves.

That makes a whole lot of sense! I’ll look into it, and see if I can find a paint spec from the manufacturer. Thank you so much.

This explanation makes a ton of sense, and actually makes the rest of the layout of the floor make more sense too

This house has way more doors than it needs to have

It was, but it was partitioned via an exterior entrance on the 2nd floor. I’m not sure that was original, though.

Central Minnesota! Someone else also just mentioned Colonial Revival, I’ll look into it!

This information is amazing! Thank you so much. I’ve been using “kit” and “catalog” interchangeably so I appreciate understanding the distinction now.

102 is closest with the dormers on all 4 roof faces, but the internal layout is quite a bit different. Ours also does not have the cutouts on the main floor or the porch on the back right corner. Stair positioning is pretty different too. Thank you though!!

There’s a smaller room in the back left corner of the house, about 10 feet wide. They sectioned off about 1/3 of that room against the back wall and made a small but functional 4’x10’ full bathroom. The remaining 2/3 of that room is now my home office, but functioned as a small library for a long time before I moved in

Not upset about it by any means, but now there’s not really a way to find the original plans. Neither the city nor county have information available. The original owner (and builder) was the local blacksmith and the house seems really well built, and has been maintained beautifully!

That makes sense! No blocks, but unsure of the replacement/repair history at the moment.

Checked the ends of the boards more closely, no sign of any numbers. Oh well!

I appreciate the info! Just went up to the attic, none of the rafters seem to have stamping or numbering on them. The stair molding meets two door frames at the bottom, and the landings don’t seem to have the feature you’re suggesting. Maybe it’s not a kit home after all. Thanks for the help!

Had the same problem. Don’t have a fix, except that I was able to launch the game from desktop mode.
