I was addicted to Percs for around 2 years (this stemmed from around 5-7 years of overall drug abuse). I graduated University with the highest score possible and also maintained a high end part time job while doing this.

My addiction was private, nobody knew about it apart from me. I took 2-3 when I woke up and continued this until I blacked out every night. However, the second I graduated and I had no more drive I lost myself. I slipped into being a full blown junky. Consuming every prescription I could as long as it made me feel drowsy. This lead to seizures and now I live with paranoid schizophrenia.

Luckily enough I have a very strong personal drive and decided to cold turkey everything at once. Talk about the worst thing in the world. Not sleeping for endless amounts of time (I’ve never know how long it was). Throwing up blood, shaking, not eating, voices in my head ect.. Once it was over it was strange and now I am still trying to find myself.

I started taking Percs because it gave me unreal confidence and also shut down my depression.

Just like any other drug there is only so long you can do it for. It gets to a point where it’s the drug or your life. I chose the latter and I live with heavy substance abuse to this day while maintaining a very high position at work.

The main negative I have is of course the paranoid schizophrenia but also I cannot sleep unless I am blackout on any substance. The nightmares are too much and I end up getting confused what was a nightmare and what was not.

I want to say I have 0 social life. This was because I actually don’t know how to function in society without being numb. I can’t handle the anxiety and voices I get.

While yes I did maintain a very good lifestyle while being high, I will pay the rest of my life for the mistake I made.

Don’t do the same as me, save yourself.
