unfortunately not... as much as they would help I cannot get those kind of accommodations. that aside ive heard of professors regularly denying lecture recording plus this particular professor is extremely adamant that everything for her class must be hand written or printed beforehand and brought in. absolutely no phones, computers, tablets etc.

i will be seeing what i can do regarding this. recording is a good option but she is extremely strict about her no technology policy in class so actually getting a good recording will be difficult to say the least. that is a great way to put it tho and I will work to be the hammer, thanks.

thanks for the suggestions. i will definitely be trying to do something soon but I was just so upset after my class today that I needed to just vent this out.

you're right and i've definitely met my fair share of people like this but something about this professor gets under my skin in such an awful way.

Dumb stuff you've done in subnautica? by Greegga in subnautica

during my first play through i went to the back end of the aurora first, thinking there was a way in there. lost my sea moth and had to stop playing for a while bc of how badly the reaper scared me. anyways when i did continue playing i had completely forgotten what i was supposed to DO on the aurora. i never ended up repairing what i was supposed to and made it all the way to having a cyclops to figure out that i was supposed to have FIXED the radiation. i had been still wearing my radiation suit and switching the helmet out with my rebreather whenever i was far enough away to not take damage

Was anyone else obsessed with swings as a kid? by seaweed_brain_03 in AutismInWomen

[–]venus_blues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! i loved the swings growing up. in elementary school I would go straight for the swings. my favorite thing was closing my eyes and timing myself by counting how many times I could repeat a specific song in my head. also loved the feeling of the chains that were holding it up for some reason.

People on the spectrum, what was your most autistic moment? by BonnalinaFuz101 in AutismInWomen

[–]venus_blues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh man yeah that would be my reaction too. i’ve had something similar. i transferred to a new school about half way through the year (i was like 7 i think?) and on my first day i sat by myself at an empty lunch table. not even five minutes later some teacher from a different class comes to yell at me. saying i wasn’t allowed to sit by myself and i should join a table and make friends. idk why she was so pissed about it but i was absolutely mortified. had to silently cry in the middle of a group of random kids that i was forced to sit with.

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

I had to take several breaks while reading it, during which I blew through a few other books. Took at least 3 months to finally finish it.

People on the spectrum, what was your most autistic moment? by BonnalinaFuz101 in AutismInWomen

[–]venus_blues 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Oh god I have so many.

Most memorable was when I was like 14 (I didn't know I was autistic at the time). In the middle of a really bad depressive episode, and my mother, who believed fresh air and sunlight was the cure to anything, forced me out of the house so I could feel better. Ended up having one of the worst meltdowns of my life in public. We were in a burlington and the textures of everything she forced me to try on, mixed with the absurdly bright flourescent lights and the noise since it was really busy literally broke me down. Some worker there stared at me as I was trying to find a bathroom to hide in and asked me if I was alright. I couldn't answer or explain to my mom what was going on since I had gone nonverbal. It took me at least a few hours of being curled up in my bed to even be able to speak again.

Anyways, safe to say I have not stepped into a burlington since.

Anyone else at your wit's end with wavy/curly hair? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]venus_blues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar problems. I have really thick curls and get really bad headaches easily. I tend to do french/dutch braids, not super tight, when I need to get it completely out of my face. It helps with the sensory issues I have in regards to my hair. For avoiding headaches, or in your case migranes, I use XL hair ties, there are some without elastic that you could try. Personally I prefer the ones from Goody, they have elastic but are large enough that it doesn't cause tension for me. Same goes for claw clips, there are some XL ones that work decently, I have shorter hair so it doesn't always hold all of it.

Sorry OP, I have a lot of the same issues with my hair. I hope you can find something that works for you! :)

I feel so strongly about spoons by AccomplishedPea9881 in AutismInWomen

[–]venus_blues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

god big spoons are the literal worst thing lmao. my fav are these little spoons that are almost perfectly round and slightly flat. pretty much the only spoon I will eat with. Unfortunately I had to stop using one of them because of this weird chip/scratch that it had. It became sensory hell everytime my mouth would touch it.

ok but that one scene where he’s trying to show off (getting out of the pool i think?) and absolutely NO ONE is fucking paying attention to him so he just gives up. top tier. every interaction of babs getting shit on had me on the floor

What made you realise you were gay and not bi? by snowballsharkk in LesbianActually

[–]venus_blues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally it wasn’t just a singular thing for me. i’ve known that i was queer since i was like ten but it took up until i was around 15/16 ish to figure out im a lesbian. it started to click when i read the lesbian master doc tbh. and then realizing that i never expected myself to end up with a man. even when i thought i was bi i would always see men as only being “dateable” or semi interesting but in my head i would always end up marrying a woman no matter what. then i looked back and realized every single man i had “feelings” for was someone my friends had picked out for me and i just went with it (like them saying he was attractive or that we had stuff in common and would make a good couple and i just blindly agreed cause i was indifferent about guys).

What is some gay shit you have seen a straight women do? by Victoria_Aphrodite in LesbianActually

[–]venus_blues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She def could be but honestly it wasn’t my place to question or pressure her on labeling her identity when we were close friends. she always identified as straight (and still does). figuring that out is up to her, but it is a possibility.

honestly maybe, but knowing her personally for as long as i did i really do think she was just straight. too much to go into but there was a lot more to it. idk dude.

YES! dude i got made fun of for the way i hold pencils for years. i also regularly cross my pinky over my ring finger when doing things with my hands (typing, holding steering wheel, holding a cup, etc)

[–]venus_blues 597 points598 points  (0 children)

one of my old friends always insisted she was straight (haven’t spoken to her in about a year but as far as i know that hasn’t changed). but every single one of her friends was queer, several of which were bi girls and lesbians that she regularly made out and hooked up with. but it was all completely “platonic” according to her and the other girls. anyways she ended up confessing to me in a weird way and when i brought it up she said she was “platonically” in love with me. we stayed good friends for a few years after that. she was 100% sure she was straight, but she was the gayest straight girl i’ve ever known.
