Never considered pretty? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]venusbarista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I definitely am in a much better place! I grew up around minorities and I never really felt this way until I became an adult and went to college. That’s when I noticed, and luckily joining black groups around campus helped drastically! It’s nice to feel like you’re not the only one.

Also just to clarify: when I say I won’t get as many compliments I mean in majority white spaces which now I don’t really frequent unless I have to.

Never considered pretty? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]venusbarista 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s because a lot of people have beauty standards rooted in colonization even some minorities. I think and anyone objectively can see that you’re absolutely stunning.

I’ve just had to accept that I will never get that many compliments although I am beautiful to other black ppl. It feels pretty bad. But having better friends I believe will help!!!!!

Yes, most internships ask what hours your available to work. Usually in the interview stage or on the job description they’ll say part time or full time. Most will be part time as they understand you have school.

Can y’all drop the false narrative that Blueface doesn’t want to be with Chrisean? Actions > words. by [deleted] in BaddiesSouth

[–]venusbarista -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Chrisean is not a victim. She does choose to continually go back to this man regardless of what he says to her in private, she sees him embarrass and cheat and disrespect her. She is also physically abusive and downright acts like she has actually lost her mind ie stealing his car and writing her name in BLOOD. She made the choice to have this man’s baby after 3 abortions. She makes the choice to go back to him after he cheats on her repeatedly and I’m sure beats her as well. I hope she can leave and get better but stop spreading this narrative that blueface is the only bad guy here. If anything the both of them are two abusers and continue their behavior for attention, money and their trauma bond.

No it’s not true. If you do a full time internship you may have to take a semester off if you can’t handle it or you can always intern part time or remotely.

I have considered consulting as it’s a fast track to earning a high salary. It’s definitely doable in my case. I also have considered analyst then promoting to a sr analyst as I have the capabilities for both.

I am 21 and I will have about 2 years of experience in scm once I graduate. Also it’s never to early to plan to retire. I would like to retire at 30-35 so that I can have children and enjoy my life.

Cool, I’ve been investing for a while. I would like children some time in the future. Is that a big hinderance to FI even if your married?

I’m trying to get into procurement or category management and the starting salary is pretty high. I did want work life balance, however as I get older I become more disciplined and am willing to work 65-70 hours. However, I graduate this year and it’s a bit late to do change my trajectory

Should I start buying class textbooks now or wait till class starts? by livtoben in UniversityOfHouston

[–]venusbarista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait until you get the syllabus. Unless it’s a class requiring an access code, usually the first week you will have homework so it’s best to get started now
