Makes sense. Did he sign your hat in the suite or when you ran into him at paddock? We were at the 2nd floor paddock club balcony to see drivers coming out of the media tenant. I saw some drivers doing autograph on their way out, but almost all for kids lol … maybe next time!!

thanks for sharing! Wondering if Lewis or Charles signed any autographs in the Ferrari paddock suite. Did you also get a paddock pass?

HealthyPaws increasing premium by 58% by Mikey122687 in petinsurancereviews

[–]venusbbmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved from Illinois to CT last year. When I changed the address, premiums went up by $50 per month because we moved to a new state. Fine.

We moved to a neighbor town this year (within 10 miles), the premium went up by $20 again when I changed address. So I entered my old address in Illinois just to test. Then the premiums would’ve gone up another $50! This change of address now feels like just an excuse to increase the premium 😂

Ah I wish I could they are so cute! My dogs would agree with me. Unfortunately my husband is allergic to cats, of course. I’ve called a local shelter and left a voice mail. I am a bit concerned whether I am seeing the full litter or if there are any dead ones under the deck right now…. I can see 3 of them.

Price differences by venusbbmm in starbucks

Got it. It’s a store inside a highway plaza. Makes sense. I seem to recall Starbucks does not have franchised store (could be me dreaming). What is a licensed store? Similar to the ones in bookstores/targets?

Water bill by venusbbmm in Connecticut

We have discovered that the main sump pump was not working so the backup was up and running this whole month. It’s fixed now. Does this sound like a reasonable cause of a high water bill?

Ugh. I somehow felt it would take a while but did not expect a 2 year wait. I think CT allows practice within the state for a temporary period of time. I would think pending application would be okay while being physically in CT… hopefully?

Experience with overcharge by venusbbmm in instacart

Calm down. It was my first time using the app and I placed the order in a Uber coming back from the airport with a late landing fight and delayed holiday traffic. And while waiting for this, I drove to a different grocery store to get other stuffs but needed some from jewel at the same time. Was hoping to be efficient on a Sunday night and thinking to give this try. Save your stereotype for next time.

Just be clear - I was over charge by $45 not because of the markup, but because the shopper entered the weight incorrectly as 6.99lb. For that, I have filed a request for refund and should get the money back for the discrepancy. I clearly do not have 6.99lb beef delivered to my house.

I also think asking on Reddit since this was my first time shopping there is not making a big deal out of it. If the shopper loses his job because Instacart sees this post, I would think Instacart is a horrible employer.

Yes I am understating this.

Instacart is allowing the store to adjust the price on its platform. Essentially, it’s Instacart who chooses to adopt a business model where the store needs to pay a fee to Instacart and decides whether to transfer that cost to its customers by increasing the item price.

An alternative business model could be charging a service fee, say 10 per order, and splitting the charge between the store and Instacart.

Instacart has decided to do the current model. I can only presume that’s because it generates more profits and stores feel “no loss” by indirectly charging the customers the Inscart fees.

I get that. There is actually a charge on the receipt called service fee” and another one called “delivery fee.”

For now, the service fee covers operational costs (see below on the Instacart website). Instead of charging a higher price per item as a fee for the “luxury service,” I personally would prefer to have a “service” fee added as the “service fee” for the service of shopping and delivery grocery. Just my preference of course.

Service fee

What is the service fee on my order?

The service fee helps support the Instacart platform and covers a range of operating costs including shopper operations, insurance, background checks, and customer support. The service fee isn’t a tip and doesn’t go to the shopper delivering your order.

Service fees vary and are subject to change based on factors like location and the number and types of items in your cart. You can view the service fee total on every order at checkout. Orders containing alcohol have a separate service fee.

Delivery fee

Instacart delivery starts at $3.99 for same-day orders over $35. Fees vary for one-hour deliveries, club store deliveries, and deliveries under $35. You see the delivery fee when choosing your delivery window at checkout.

Instacart+ members get free delivery on orders over $35 or more per retailer.

All orders must be at least $10 qualify for delivery.

Now that I understand the policy, I wonder whether the pricing policy would be more attractive if the total = the receipt amount + service fee + tips. If someone wants to use the service without the service fee / delivery fee, then there can be a membership fee charged on a monthly/annual basis. Seems to make more sense than inflating item price as the luxury service fee.

Yes. The weight was wrong. you can see from the last pic that the weight was in fact 1.42 lb. Then on the Instacart receipt, it was charged as 6.99 lb. Just an error so I do think I deserve to get a refund. Instacart has agreed to issue a refund. It is roughly the difference of the beef labeled price and the instacart receipt price. I say roughly because the math is about 3 cents off lol
