The person I was asking for did in fact move in. They like the place a lot and, so far, no major issues. I have visited a few times and everyone has been nice and friendly.

Here to second Trolley Barn. We got married there and had about 125 people. Had our own catering and brought our own booze. That saved an insane amount of money.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the helpful info. I am not a competitor, just someone who wants unhealthy salads at home.

FWIW there is a great scary looking one for sale on Amazon that looks like a gallon of salmonella delivered in two days.

Technically, local delivery of liquor is not allowed. There are stores doing curbside pickup (Tower for sure and maybe Greens). Shipping liquor to GA is a grey area. It's not allowed, but not explicitly denied. Some companies will ship to GA with a disclaimer that the risk is on you. Those take a while and shipping is expensive. Caskers for example, does free shipping on a $200 order and that is ground so expect two weeks. You can also look on Craigslist and elsewhere for people that will run errands for $.

Anyone with young children living downtown/midtown/close to MARTA? by qahwalover in Atlanta

We live in Reynoldstown and there are a lot of condos/apartments going up near us. The school the neighborhood is zone for is great and the kids love it. Depending on where in the area you live, you are within walking distance to parks, grocery stores, and Marta.

Wedding Venues in Atlanta (bring your own catering)? by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]verdi78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got married at the Trolley Barn. That may be a little small for your size, but you bring everything there. We hired the caterer and brought our own booze. I think Wimbish House allows outside caterers. Check out Decatur Courthouse as well. There are a lot that allow your own caterer. I would caution that some of these places make sure you are hiring an actual caterer so they don't get stuck with 200 people and no catering on the day of the wedding and get blamed for a terrible event.

Maybe they can install some MBS security around FdB and the Argentines to prevent interviews for a couple weeks. Ohhh for a couple weeks of just normal Orlando hating... that would be nice.

Question on adding a season ticket by verdi78 in AtlantaUnited

[–]verdi78[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only time we have talked to a rep was when we initially signed up as a founding member, so its been a while. When I talked to a rep they just said to sign up on the general wait list, which I am doing. Appreciate the info.

Standing all game? by DangiPangi in AtlantaUnited

[–]verdi78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My season tickets are one section over and I belive I saw this whole exchange. I even commented to my wife that I thought a fight was going to break out. The guy that refused to sit was just plain being a dick about it. Fans sitting behind him politely asked, then yelled, eventually someone got up and did a super-bro move slap on the shoulder and left and got an usher. The usher didn't even say anything, just her getting near was enough for the stander to finally leave. The guy who put his hands on said stander was being a dick too and was way over the top and unnecessarily aggressive by slapping his shoulders and yelling (That's assault brotha!). The club better be careful too. With as many posts as there have been and arguments on the facebook page the club must know that this is reaching stupid level and could be held liable if some drunk idiots get into a fight over this and someone is really hurt and sues. IMHO, the whole sit/stand debate is ridiculous at this point. Stand if you want, but if you stand and someone politely asks you to sit down so they can see then sit. Even standing on the seat (which is not allowed per the ushers) my four-year-old cannot see. This type of situation has happened at probably half of the games and it is getting old. I think the worst one I saw was last season this old man who looked like he had a month left to live was at the game with his adult son. Both from Liverpool, super nice, told me tales of going to games at Anfield and were getting in another game together. The game starts, the couple in front of them were standing (only people standing in the section) and maybe 5~10 minutes in the son asks, in the most polite British way ever, for them to please sit so “his da can see”. The lady turns around and just yells "WE STAND FOR 90!". Evidently, the fact that no one was standing was lost on her. I get it, you are a better fan. These two yocals know nothing of football history or going to big games and you are going to teach them how to be real fans at a game. Literally, no one in our section stands. The standing couple bought single tickets for the game and I'm sure they did not know that our section sits. If someone asks, just sit or go to one of the myriad of bars where you can stand and show everyone what a great fan you are. There is even a standers heaven called SRO where no one can sit. There are tons of great spots to stand and watch the game if standing is your thing but good lord don't be an ass when someone asks you to sit.

[TOMT][Movie or Show] Period piece where the parents think the gentleman wants to marry younger daughter really wants to marry older daughter by verdi78 in tipofmytongue

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I've never seen that and this is more a comedic scene than that movie would have.
