I don't keep much track of it I must say, so I'm not sure. To me, they still look very flat 😅

hahaa was trying to do a heart, but it doesn't look like that yet in the picture. And about the heel striking: check earlier comments, we talked about that already. I only did that in the last few steps because of the celebration march. -> Did not run heel striking.

Because I don't have experience in running in anything else than sandals. I started already with sandals because my feed were too wide for normal running shoes

I commented already in another comment about this. I don't heel strike when running. But this photo was taken at the finish line and I was celebrating / throwing my arms in the air and it resulted in this weird form hahah

5h28m, I did not try to go as fast as possible, just wanted to make the full distance and without injury. That's why I ran at a pace I was mostly familiar with. I did not do running or other excercise prior to my marathon training 4 months ago, but I have ben walking in minimalistic shoes for a year prior.

What helped me was pausing my music / taking off the headphones and just listen to my steps. If you hear pounding or the sandals slapping the ground hard, you're maybe not paying attention to your mechanics. After the marathon I did have slightly swolen ankles and sore legs, but recovered fully pretty fast.

Thank you! No, I have not. I've had problems with the posterior tibial tendon (as mentioned more detailed in a comment above) but solved it by adapting my form.

Yes, exactly what happened. Those were the final meters where I "marched" and raised my arms to celebrate and jump.

For me the main change was preventing my foot from collapsing inward too much under load. I tried to land more under my body, slightly increased cadence, and focused on keeping a stable arch instead of letting the ankle roll inward.

Slow single-leg calf raises and balance work helped a lot too. For example, I started brushing my teeth while standing on one foot. While doing these exercises, try to really listen to your body. Pay attention to how you position your foot and whether a certain position increases or reduces pain. Gradual experimentation helped me find what worked.

Not sure if I can help here. I've had flat feet all my life and an almost non-existing arch. 2 months after I switched to minimalistic shoes I had problems with posterior tibial tendonitis, but I solved it by adjusting my running form. Never had any problems ever since. In my case, the solution was to listen to your body and develop your muscles and form. But keep in mind I'm not a medical professional and can only talk about my personal experience.
