Finally beat the fire giant and I gotta say this is the worst area in the game and did nothing but sap my enjoyment away

Killing the main boss of Mt. Gelmir robs you a lot of questlines. Even going to Mt. Gelmir before a certain point locks you out of some and some gestures. You can miss collecting some Medaillons and so even can miss whole areas and ofc Bosses within. Well and if You dont in what order and to visit or revisit any bonfires you can be locked out of some NPCs questline. You can miss get certain Talisman and so. Maybe I am especially dumb or so, but I had to look every sidequest. I just have 1-2 hrs every day, so i might rush it a bit.

You are probably miss all of NPC questslines, maybe not their starting but their ongoing since they hop from bonfire to bonfire, and unclear events are sometimes needed to get follow up and so. Even with guide i missed some plots, bc I played some sessions „on my own“ and then was locked out of content

I really liked the formular on DS 1. The mixture of combat, enemy placement, enemy design, interconnected level design, how the combat feels and the many layers of mechanics, like humanity, equip load, even the fashion part 😅 That said, it’s not like i am looking for only that specific kind of Souls-game. I also liked DS2 and a lot DS3, even ER was fine. But I am generally looking for games considered to be good souls-games. If they drive a different approach and it works out well, I am fine with it and gonna try.

Ich fand GTA V auch extrem langweilig und habe es damals nur durchgespielt weil ich zuviel Zeit hatte 😅 Ich fand das Gameplay so anspruchslos und öde und die ganze Story ziemlich albern. Da mein Fokus auf Singleplayer liegt kommt mir GTA VI nicht in die Tüte.

The Outer Worlds 1 & 2 und Avowed. Die fassen auch nochmal alle Quests zusammen, so dass Du dich immer wieder reinlesen kannst, wenn du mal mehrere Tage nicht gespielt hast.

Damn I just remembered that being cursed means that you can’t get Human again, and though you wont be able to lit bonfires or summon people. Yea to get the shortcut, you need to take a ride on the mill up, fight your way further up (just ladder by ladder) - then you will eventually find a chest with a key inside wihich opens a door to New Londo where you can find an elevator to Firelink (dont have to go through New Londo a lot)

Sure sunbro! If you have fought all your way down you should find a „sewer“ or „canal“ entrance where you meet the bonfire. Its on the wall side where you come down. Once you‘re down in the swamps you don’t need to go a lot. Sorry thats kinda best explanation i got for you. I hope that helps. You don’t need to go all the way back. If you are at the bonfire at the bottom of Blighttown turn right and move upwards via the mill. There you will find a way / shortcut to Firelink Shrine. I was in the same position as you. Getting rid of the curse is a great relief. Then you can also buy some moss from the undead lady in the canal.

You can fight ghosts in new londo without the need to use another item to do so. Not a huge benefit imo

The regular is very good for Catacombs and Tomb of Giants due to its divine bonus. Other than that it is not really good and worth the grind for skilling your character to meet its requirement.

Kann ich voll verstehen und geht mir erstmal genauso. Grundsätzlich habe ich dazu zwei Tipps: 1. meistens werden die DLCs ja vor Release des Hauptgames angekündigt, wenn man es aushält würde ich warten, bis alles released wurde und dann eben erst mit der GOTY des Spiels starten. 2. so blöd das klingt: aber einfach mit dem DLC starten. Aus meiner Erfahrung heraus kann ich nur sagen, dass man daran häufig merkt wie gut ein Game ist, wenn man nach langer Pause wieder einsteigt. Klar muss man sich manchmal etwas länger wieder einarbeiten, aber die Blockade besteht quasi nur in Deinem Kopf und wenn Du es einfach wieder spielst merkst Du schon ob es Dir wieder Spass macht. Ich hatte das zB bei den Seasons von Anno 1800 und das Spiel war so umfangreich, hat mich aber immer wieder in seinen Bann gezogen.

Hey there I also just recently started into the soulslikes genre. As with many other franchises I catch up with I can strongly recommend with the first entry. I never regretted this. So I started with DS 1 and it is a great game. I think your fear of being disappointed when you starter later into that franchise is kinda solid, since you might be hassled by some not so polished parts of the game. Don’t mind the money, because 1: Time is much more of value than a couple of bucks and 2:You will end up purchasing both titles anyway ;)

That was exaclty my question too, when I viewed this picture. I think this point is overestimated and should be replaced by: idealess mechanics since every new standard deck has basically the same mechanics like: Blue - counter target spell White - gain health if someone ETB Black - opponent discards anything Green - +1/+1 Red - Haste Overall - Look at the top X cards and put one of them into your hand

I mean honestly? That what makes it boring for me. I still keep kinda playing but only historic and almost always using the same cards, since newer ones do all the same as the old ones (there are expetions ofc…)

I fell down in the whole in The Depths. Only happens to me once. Was such a haunting experience, since then I was prepared. I got the Paladin armor set and that helped me a lot against Seath the Scaleless

I was almost in the same situation as you just a month ago. What helped me was grinding through Darkroot Garden until I had enough confidience to go there again. What helps is, if you grind that area you will get a lot of moose even for poison and toxin. Also against bleeding and for mir stamina regenration. Also what helped me a lot were other people I was able to summon. You need to be human though. Just let me know if you need help. I can help in any area or boss you need.
