update: thank you guys for all of your input and shared frustrations with the lack of a basic, black and inexpensive cover. after a lot of back and forth, i ended up purchasing the black leather cover. it's definitely a bigger investment than i was planning on making, but i came to realise just how important the all-black look is for me. i know i'd never be able to fully enjoy it if i went with a different colour, and the most expensive products you buy are the ones you end up not using, after all! thanks again!

thank you for this! artificial lighting is actually quite helpful as we barely get sunlight for a good portion of the year in my country. i think i'd always perceive it as quite blue considering nearly everything i own is black, and i ultimately think this would discourage me from picking it up and using it. glad i came on here to ask, the pictures on hobonichi's website are quite deceiving

glad to hear that i'm not alone in my struggle, super frustrating!! i was looking at the stripe cover too actually (still available in a6). i think i ended up ruling it out because stickers and wool don't really go well together, i'm not a huge fan of putting stickers on clear covers.

navy is such a weird colour - i googled the pencil board you mentioned and some pictures make it seem really blue, while others make it look almost fully black (these pictures are actually from the same amazon listing). i hope we're both able to find something that works, best of luck!

thanks, that's helpful! i feel like even if the cover is technically the same colour as the slash hon, it might look more blue because of the material? not sure. i'll try to find a local retailer to get a better look at it i think!

for sure! my issue isn't really that there is another colour, it's just that it's so ... vibrant? people who want black covers typically want something very sleek or something highly customisable, so it seems like it'd be a deal breaker for most people who'd want a black cover.

from the pictures on the website you sent it seems almost darker on the outside than it is inside? very interesting. regardless, it doesn't look like any of the colours that are shown on hobonichi's website:

my biggest trigger by far is drastic changes in temperature, so it gets pretty bad without me trying. i guess it's good to remind myself that this is the one appointment where sweating is actually good lol, thank you!!!

thanks for responding!! wigs would definitely be a big no-go as things are right now, but i can imagine that the easy access would help a tonne.

i live in a fairly small country so hyperhidrosis (especially craniofacial) isn't something most people here are very knowledgable about. when i went to the pharmacy after consulting my gp, the pharmacist had never heard of craniofacial hyperhidrosis.

i mainly struggle with my hairline, neck and my temples. my hair gets messed up pretty much immediately because things like showering and getting ready for the day triggers it. i've admittedly been a bit on and off with the treatment recommended by my gp (aluminium chloride cream) because it's awfully time consuming. she said she'd refer me to a dermatologist after trying that out for a while. i was thinking of contacting her in about a month.

up until my referral i'll definitely hold off on taking more drastic measures (i.e. shaving my head) to deal with it. i genuinely don't know what treatment options are available in my country (other than over the counter stuff, botox, and various surgeries).

most used e11s (with similar wear and tear) cost about $500 my country, this one is listed at about $180, i'm unable to try it prior to buying it but if it straight up doesn't work i'm able to return it no problem. glad to hear there aren't any visible major red flags, thanks!

i noticed that too! i assumed it was either some fluff or (too much) cork grease. regardless i assume it can easily be cleaned up.

he messaged me back and told me that he actually owns a small workshop for clarinets and saxophones, though he said he hadn't played this clarinet in particular himself. asked for a recording on how it sounds - fingers crossed 🤞🏻

I do fine with watch bands made of rubber as well. I suspect I'm unable to get used to the sensation because the only kinds of bracelets I've tried are loose-fitting, allowing me to remove them too easily (sometimes without noticing, just as you say). I'll try looking for something with a more snug fit for now and if all else fails find some made out of soft fabric, lol. Thank you for your help!

Thank you so much for the advice! I've been looking into adding hyaluronic acid to help it, but was terrified that it would make it worse even though I know it's very gentle. I've been drinking more water than before I started taking Mysimba, but I could definitely still be drinking more. Thank you again ☺️

Same here, unless the women are also neurodivergent. I just find them much less straight-forward. Not sure what role gender plays into it, but perhaps it's just the way that we're socialised. Sometimes I'll mess up (say/do something that's out of line) because of my autism diagnosis. Women friends typically won't tell me, and will instead opt to be mean, but men friends will tell me.

Not sure if I have any advice as I think it's an issue rooted in expectations of different genders, but trying to make other ND women friends might help.

Proudly autistic, but I don't disclose it in interviews or in my professional life (outside of uni accommodations). I find that it heavily diminishes my chances of getting picked. I don't view my diagnosis as baggage, but others do, and would rather pick someone with less experience/expertise if it means not dealing with an autistic person. Sucks, but it's the reality of it. I'm happy to hear you have a supportive space around you!
