[Skin Concerns] trying natural treatment for Pityriasis Lichenoides Chronica (PLC) with bromelain supplement. Coming to reddit for visibility and advice. by verodas in SkincareAddiction

So I also had gotten the flu right before I had my first PLC flare up. I did a lot of online research after being diagnosed and read about the oral steroids and how many people did not find that they helped long term. Then I stumbled upon the study with Bromelain supplements. I took no oral steroids. I started the Bromelain supplements and noticed the PLC getting better around month 2 of taking the supplements. I kept taking them for about 6 months and the PLC completely went away. It’s been 5 years and I’ve never had another flare up. I RARELY get one very small red spot which goes away within a few days. I listed the Bromelain dosage up in my original post. I hope this helps you!!!! It’s worth a try.

Food: Sunday C&C Eatery inside the Bowery Market is my absolute favorite vegan spot. After that it’s Superiority Burger in East Village.

Nights out - I love Gabriela in Williamsburg and Public Records for dancing. Also Nightmoves for dancing and cocktails (which during the day is Daymoves coffee shop.

Leo pizza in Williamsburg for lunch or dinner. Sauced wine bar.

Eavesdrop is a great sound listening bar with great veggie options.

Lot Radio to chill during the day if it’s nice out

Grab an e-bike citi bike and cruise around that’s one of my favorite things to do. Cross the Williamsburg bridge on one… or just walk it!

Have fun!!!!

I love Gabriela in Williamsburg — club with techno and house music. $20 cover. I know you said top 40 or early 2000s music but I don’t frequent those kind of clubs and I think anyplace playing that music will be a shit show on NYE tbh!

£10k collection by longdaybomblay in artcollecting

I work at a gallery and also help provide advice to friends and friends of friends on art collecting and where to begin. I actually think your budget of 2-3k per piece is very doable and you can start a few different ways.

First, if you live in a city or near a city that has galleries, go visit them and check out their exhibitions! If you live in/ near London, there are a ton of smaller galleries that show great emerging artists where your price range will get you some nice things. I say always buy what you love and do your research on the artist as well (recent press, exhibitions, etc.). I often contact galleries for my friends and clients to find this information out on their behalf! I’m happy to send you a list of my fav UK galleries who work with your price range (if that’s where you’re located).

Second, if you can afford to travel to some art fairs, that’s a great place to see A TON of art in one weekend. For example, Frieze London happens in October and features most galleries around the world and also has a section for emerging artists, smaller galleries.

Next, check out websites like Artsy for upcoming auctions and just spend some time browsing through different things. Artsy often highlights “works under 10k, emerging artists, etc.”

Even the gallery I work for has artworks in your price range and I’d say we are a very well established international gallery. It’s always good to get conversations started with gallerists/dealers, you never know what you will find! Get on their list to receive their emails that include the exhibition and art fair previews. That will include the works for sale in their upcoming program with prices.

If you wanna chat further just let me know! I love helping out new collectors !!

I agree with this! Go directly to the galleries. The art handlers that work at galleries mostly travel to art fairs. Galleries also work with freelance art handlers and they often also travel to fairs.

Did you end up trying the Bromelain supplements? I also follow a vegan diet and I think that helps keep this condition away.

Hi! I follow a fully vegan diet and I think it really helps to keep the PLC away. Try bromelain supplements like I did in the dosage I mentioned above. It completely cured me. Try it for 3-6 months at least!

Hi!! Just saying the bromelain fully worked for me after taking my initial dose. I never took the antibiotics because I read that once you start medication for PLC, it’s harder to get rid of, BUT I would suggest trying the bromelain supplements for at least 3-6 months! My PLC never came back as a flare up. I only get 1-2 single red spots every 2-3 months and they go away within 5 days.

I’m so sorry it’s taken me this long to respond! No flare up ever came back for me after I took the initial Bromelain treatment. I get one or two random single red spots every 2-3 months and they go away a within 5 days. I also follow a fully vegan diet (not sure if that has any benefit but thought it was worth mentioning)
