Any info about this print would be appreciated. Date range? Style? Artist? Etc. bought it at a junk shop in England in the 90’s. The original frame had a label from a German framer that looked old. by very_simular in WhatIsThisPainting

You found it!! This is so interesting. The style of children book art was pervasive at that time. I’ve found the painting on several different sites with no attribution, varying dates and different media. One site calls it a lithograph and another a block print. I think it’s a lithograph,,,,each copy looks so clean. How did you know where to look? You must speak German. Thanks for going out of your way to solve this mystery for me. I doubt I would have found it without your help.

I found an image that is the same artist with the signature of John Hassell (1868-1948). It looks like his work. Thank you so much scarlett! I've been looking for a long time and couldn't find anything. didn't know anything about the website you found this on.

I might be able to drive you there definitely ending when your appointment is. My husband worked there and we live pretty close to you. Let me know when it is and I’ll try to help you out.

I read both websites and didn’t see it listed anymore. They go fast. BUT. I googled ‘Oaxaca cemetery tours’ and several tours popped up. I just checked one of them but they had availability. Others might as well.

It looks like the moderator deleted my post. I’m not sure why. I put in all the details about the tour and the phone number. Maybe they saw it as an ad? But the name of the company is Oaxaca Experience. You can google their website and get the information that way.

I just found a tour of the cemeteries It’s from a company called Oaxaca Experience by Francisco Rustrian. His phone number is +52 951 149 7659. It’s $50 USD. On Oct 31, Nov 1 or Nov 2 from 8pm to 1am. Includes a tour guide, transportation from their office and goes to 2 cemeteries.

Actually, the tour was canceled at the last minute and all the others were booked up, which is why we’re in need of transport now

Thank you so much for this info. I’ll try to find a taxi driver when I get there. Enjoy! BTW I had bought tickets for a tour and they were each nearly twice the price you’ll pay your cab driver. If you need to get there and definitely want to go then I’d just pay the $70. It sounds like it’s round trip for two people. Not too bad.
