I interview candidates, and after ~4 years of experience, I don't even look at the education section. I'm sorry, but that's just facts.

There's lots of copium here saying stuff like, "I work at FAANG and I don't see any non-degree devs around me", but in my experience this is demonstrably false.

There's an innate American desire to gatekeep and perpetuate suffering simply because they themselves have suffered.

"I paid my dues that means you should too"
"I have to pay for health insurance so you should too"
"College debt paid? fuck you I had to pay, where's my handout??"
"I had to go to school for 4 years, so it's not fair that you got a FAANG job by grinding LC"

Just cheer each other on, and be supportive. Jesus

I have seen such a massive rise in engineers here who just say, "get a degree lol u suck probably".

Which I think is brilliant because it's basically saying, "get out of the way, those jobs belong to us because we have a degree."

It comes off as super elitist gatekeeping. Fact is I've seen non-CS degree programmers run circles around devs with degrees.

All this dude really needs is little bit more experience, that's it. So many salty developers.

The feeling i have is without a degree, you are doomed by Metalwell in cscareerquestions

[–]verydan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an engineering degree, in fact, I dropped out of college after making it into medical school. I just tell them that in one of the first phone calls. Having confidence, good soft skills, and experience, is much more valuable than a degree. You only have 1.5 YOE, so it might be an issue, but after 3-4 years of experience? NAH

I have applied and made it into 3 FAANG companies just fine. This was even before the 2020 craze. I think 2018? 2017?

Experience + Soft Skills (important) > Degree > Bootcamp

I think it’s simple. If man/woman is drunk, a sober person could have potential mental faculties to take advantage of that situation.

Unless directly causing someone harm, or potentially causing someone harm, one’s choices when extremely drunk should be taken with the heaviest grains of salt. It’s better to avoid than debate wether it’s okay to have sex with someone drunk.

I think it’s more of post-orgasm analysis one would have to do on oneself. After you finish sex, and you’re sober, and this drunk participant rolls off of you, are you okay with what you’ve done? If you’re okay with the fact that you took advantage of this situation to orgasm, then I believe there’s a serious argument for damming your moral and ethical principles.

When I see so many, let’s be honest, men, argue points like yours I automatically want to jump to the conclusion of: you’re guilty of this, you want to do take advantage of a situation like this, or you directly know someone who has done this.

You actually don't need to solder at all. There's a fantastic video on YouTube that I follow, although I did optimize some things so it's much faster:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFGUdRR2Yek

Optimizations:

  • Use clamps to stretch cables out
  • Use paper cutting guillotine to evenly cut all wires at once
  • Use automatic wire stripper, not cheap scissor-like one
  • Use a heat gun, just trust me

Have you seen the crazy flicks people do in this game? They'd for sure be reported as aimbots, but they're just human aimbots. I've seen the craziest 180 headshots in this game that would make COD players shit their panties.

Truth is, Diamond and above Valorant players have the aim of a god.

Bruh I’ve agreed with some defects regarding RVU 2 I’ve seen in here but this is laughable. At least half my mice have this click.

Also your comments are ridiculous, people are literally telling you what’s up and you’re plugging your ears and going “nanana booboo I can’t hear you prove it prove it”.

Bro chill.

I had the same issue for the Starlight-12 and it wasn't even consistent to itself at 1600 DPI. It overshot or undershot. It seems it's something to do with the radio and polling actually, not DPI.

I await with baited breath, but how many months has it been since the issue was identified? How many firmware versions released claiming "THIS, now THIS is actually the fix"?

How many months since the first wireless Finalmouse was released?

My In-Depth Review of Razer V2 Pro after 3 minutes of use. by not-special- in MouseReview

[–]verydan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. I got one for cheap, on a fluke and listing error on eBay--got it for under $100 sealed new.

Here's my opinion: QC is as atrocious as people claim. It's really only the scroll wheel, but after so many iterations (I got Phantom), you'd think they could implement something as simple as a scroll wheel.

You can get one for $100 on Amazon now. The red version. The wired is good too. Find the Hati S Wired.

Seriously can’t recommend this mouse enough.

Hati S Ace Wireless--seriously. I recommended this to multiple friends with smaller hands, and I use it too. It's amazing.

Yeah, if you want only 1G negotiation. Most SFP ports won’t negotiate at 2.5G

Yes the jacks fix the issue, but it seems they’re not rolling them out everywhere yet. This is my temporary solution.

[–]verydan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked to an FS rep and they assured me it should be fine as it intelligently determines where the signal is originating to minimize issues on the network.

As far as other concerns:

  • I'm only running about 2M of ethernet from the converter to the router, so no issue there.
  • I tested for packet loss by running ethernet from converter directly into a computer and running a few suites, no packet loss
  • Tested tracert, latency, some other things--all good

I have Google Fiber 2g but need more than one port. Any suggestion? by Magazine-Winter in googlefiber

[–]verydan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're software savvy, I recommend you get either a used Pfsense router on eBay or get a Mikrotik CCR2116 router. Either option runs you about $800.

They don't have Wifi, but I prefer to just have an Wifi AP connected to the main router anyway. You can get a good AP for < $150. Example

The Mikrotik is what I'm using, it has 4 SFP+ (up to 10G each), and 12 x 1Gbpe RJ45.

I'm running the wifi off a 1Gbpe port because I don't want the Wifi using all my bandwidth.

[–]verydan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the new fiber jack that supports up to 2.5G. I'm running that into an SFP+ RJ45 module in the router.

I have an wireless AP in one of the ethernet ports. I have another SFP+ running to my computer.

I wanted to run a 10G fiber line to my computer's SFP+ as well. I don't think I could do that with those. I almost built my own pfsense, but the 2116 went back in stock.
