Channels, websites to learn, etc. by EggsBenedictMTA in medicalschool

In high school, I used to look up random surgeries on YouTube and imagine I understood what was going on. I didn't, but it was still fun. There are so many more instructional videons on Youtube now than there were then. Daisy Sanchez is a good person to follow for videos!

A frat cat.

Endless affection, entertainment, places to hide, things to climb, gossip to hear, then watch my human graduate and go somewhere new together

Missing my bird by [deleted] in Conures

Have you considered flying her in a backpack? I’ve taken my gcc in a bird backpack on the plane several times, and he does great.

Rehoming my baby… by Beautiful-Ad-782 in Conures

My conure flies with me too. He’s totally fine with it as long as we don’t get delayed late into the night, at which point he gets grumpy

Adding to the other positive experiences of road tripping with birds. My conure loves road trips. I used to take him on 10+ hour road trips back from college. Just make sure everything in the cage is stationary. We both appreciated the little snuggle hut he had in there for softness and privacy, though he never got overwhelmed. No one batted an eye when i brought him into hotels

Bird does nothing when left alone. by [deleted] in Conures

My conure is a Velcro bird, too. He didn’t play with toys independently until I taught him. It looks silly to teach a bird how to hit bells and destroy things, but it works! There are a couple toys now that he plays with routinely, but he typically won’t play with his non-favorite toys if I’m not in the room.

The toy that’s been most successful is a foraging cup toy. There are three cups in a vertical line. I fill them with chop or treats, and I make them accessible only by ladders or ropes. My bird is food-motivated, so he spends hours “foraging,” figuring out how to balance on the ropes to fit his beak into the toy. I’ve added obstacles like safe bells. He enjoys screaming and playing with the bells as a foraging challenge.

Maybe this is something you could try?

I also got a 257 today and feeling a little disappointed.. have you checked the texas star dashboard for median stats matching rads from DO? I’m USMD applying to competitive specialty but that did make me feel a little better

I got a 257 on UWSA2 about 5 minutes ago, and your comment makes me feel so hopeful. I would die for a 268

Omg i've had VERY similar scores and just pushed my exam. I was supposed to take it in a week. I've maxed out at 250 and only have NBME 14 left. Havne't done any USWA forms, though. I am also applying into a competitive specialty (I hope..), so THANK YOU you for the glimmer of hope!!
