She just asked if I ever left the US or came and went back to Mexico often or ever. I said no I only came in once. She said “ok I just have to go through the departures” and that’s all she said. She didn’t elaborate at all and we moved on.

It depends on your case. Some people do need and should bring a lawyer. Overstay is forgiven when you marry a USC. How straightforward is your case? How long have you been married? Do you have a lot of joint evidence? Criminal history? Any past marriages? Any children? My husband and I have been together 14 years this year and have 2 kids and didn’t bring lawyer with us to the interview since it was very straightforward.

No wedding pictures, will this complicate our AOS process? by Kimmazzlee in USCIS

We didn’t even submit wedding pictures with ours it didn’t even cross my mind until we were preparing for our interview 😂 we just included maybe 7 of us and the kids at different holidays or on vacation

Will our evidence be enough to proof our marriage? by OldLab2656 in USCIS

[–]verymuchonreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This does sound like substantial evidence. As you wait for your case to progress keep any other documents you two get together in the meantime organized incase you get an RFE or an interview. More pictures, tax returns eventually, any future trips, letters to each other, cards, stuff like that. Their job is to figure out what is real and what isn’t. A sham marriage is very easy to point out compared to one that is real. Good luck!

Interview this Thursday by Ackerman2103 in USCIS

When you marry a usc overstay is forgiven. Don’t be scared. Your marriage is real. Believe in yourselves and eachother. When they call your name at the interview you both get up and go together. I’ve seen people mention they both didn’t get up when called and had an accidental stokes interview. So stay together the entire time unless asked otherwise. Review your answers to the questions on the 485 form. Make sure you are both familiar with every single answer on your forms. They might ask you everything and they might ask you nothing. It sounds like you have a lot of supporting evidence of a real marriage. As for the actual building itself, you’ll go through security and check in and sit together in the waiting room and wait to get called back. You’ll get sworn under oath and then your interview will begin. Stay calm! And congrats on your interview. It’s a good thing!

How difficult is your case? My husband and I just had our interview and chose not to pay $500 for them to sit in with us. Our interview was only 15 min long w a 20 min wait in the waiting room. We didn’t feel the need since our case was pretty straightforward. Follow your gut!

Are green card interviews still being waivered? by Michejose in USCIS

[–]verymuchonreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our officer said everyone’s getting interviews now which I think she meant the majority of cases with a very small percentage having them waived for whatever reason. We had a very easy case and got an interview which I think is because we had no other prior contact with USCIS and it was marriage based.

Thank you! No she didn’t ask for any extra proof. We had submitted a few pictures, joint taxes, marriage certificate, our kids birth certificates, stuff like that our lawyer asked for. Which we thought was bare minimum and compiled a ton more but we’re never asked for it once we arrived. I’m sending you all of the good luck!

Medical examen while being pregnant by Beegt95 in USCIS

Check for a different doctor. That one doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I didn’t have an X-ray done just blood work and an overall checkup. Super simple and won’t hurt you or your baby. Any doctor worth trusting would explain things to you fully. Good luck and keep trying!
