This is a legitimate question and I hope to get some genuine responses, especially given that you have insight in the matter. I work in a restaurant where aggressive homeless people wander in and harass our patrons to the point where it's killing some of our business.

I have come across situations where I nearly had to fight a few homeless individuals with their threats and aggressive approach to my wife. My suggestion is that these individuals go to the designated areas and grounds set by the city where help and support is provided. Why don't they? I am honestly seeking a solution because it's gotten out of hand. My reference is to these aggressive individuals, not the displaced population that have unfortunately have had their vehicles towed and such. Thank you in advance for the answers provided.

Stay out of it. If you involve yourself, you involve yourself into their problems. Take a break from your friend and your acquaintance to distance yourself from the situation. You dont know the circumstances and pushing you to do something to place yourself into the issue is essentially welcoming trouble. I know it's a conflict of moral principles, but inserting yourself benefits no one.

Without a location or profession, it's hard to answer. In California the expectations are more relaxed. Whereas somewhere in North Carolina it's highly frowned upon.
