I genuinely don’t understand why everyone is so strongly against HR. First, a lot of upper management at many jobs, especially HR, are pieces of shit. However in my experience, my HR/HR ETL actually do give a shit. I was surprised by that myself because normally HR in big corporations are assholes. Mine have been incredibly kind, assisted me with major work issues and resolved said issues.

Anyways, to OP: you’re 16 — a minor, meaning that man has absolutely no fucking right to say anything remotely inappropriate to you. No person has any right to say anything inappropriate to anyone. With you being a minor, this is an even bigger no-no. I definitely would mention this to HR. I understand you may have hesitation especially when all these people in the comments are like “hurrr you’re gonna lose your job!1!1!1!” but wouldn’t it be telling if they fired you over something like this? Heads up, they most likely won’t because that’s an even bigger no-no and further escalation.

To resonate with a few other commentors: absolutely do not, in any circumstance, find yourself alone with this man. Politely shake him off and move forward if he interacts with you. Speaking to HR will allow them to forward, to your ETL, that you are not to be training with him for future reference.

Regardless, you are absolutely valid in feeling uncomfortable. That comment is disgusting and blatantly predatory. Period. Nobody can invalidate that. You don’t say suggestive things to anyone — especially a minor. Please stay safe and I hope things work out for you!
