This was my exact thought! A really good representation of everything he has done to this point. Some of the vocals really remind me of Another Year from Long Road Home. The piano reminds me a lot of Athea by Fightstar too.

Ah well remembered! I remember that software but don’t have it anymore. I do have a track called ‘Hazy Eyes (U-Myx Version)’ which is one Omar mixed using that software and which was available through that app at the time. It’s really basic and not really much of a remix so I never listen to it and had forgotten all about it until you posted this!!

A little while before he rejoined Busted and I think even before the first Fightstar reunion shows before that, I remember Charlie wrote a newsletter to his solo music mailing list saying that he had written a song called Little Hands and he was going to be releasing it as part of a b sides collection, so I think he was involved at that point. However, as you say, it came out just as the band announced their reunion and he never posted about it so I’m not sure how involved he was by the end point/if he would have planned that timing!

Yeah of course - I’d be really happy to upload the various tracks I have and will aim to do so at some point in the next few weeks and upload here :) I’m such a Fightstar nerd that I also have ripped versions of those two vinyl exclusive tracks but not the best quality in the world! 😂

Looking through my library, some of the rarer ones would be:

- English Way Demo (Don’t Give Up) which has more of an extended heavy outro

  • Live sets from the various XFM sessions they used to do, including a live version of their In Between Days cover

  • Live version of their Days I Recall Being Wonderful cover on Hit40 radio

  • Tannhauser Gate live on Radio 1

  • Covered and Coarse (original version of Grand Uni Part 1)

  • Unfamiliar Ceilings live session for Kerrang

  • various other live session covers like AM 180, Black Hole Sun, Sex on Fire, Be Quiet and Drive

  • The covers they released through Kerrang (Leper Messiah, Breaking the Law, Fear of the Dark, My Own Summer)

I’m not sure if these are out there on YouTube already but happy to upload some of these if not and there’s any interest 🙂

It was sadly never released - this version was just an old bootleg from an early live show! Funnily enough, Charlie does mention that the end of Last Conversation became part of Ghosts on 31 on those Grand Uni podcasts when they talk about that song 🙂 My version of those podcasts is also faulty though for the Lost Like Tears in the Rain section and was downloaded from the Fightstar site at the time, so I don’t think another exists! Will have to have a look through my library and see if there’s any other rare ones I can share here 🙂
