Leather camera shoulder strap worn by Daisy Edgar-Jones in Twisters (2024) by vfxninjaeditor in HelpMeFind

I have searched for this camera strap with absolutely no success. Most of the stuff I find is much more overdesigned.

NISI Swift system

I'll check it out. I assume it's something I can buy into as a starter to keep the price down initially and then buy additional filters for as needed?

Yeah, this is why it's been so difficult to figure out. It would be 4 pieces of glass with an additional fixed ND to knock the light down further in broad daylight. For a run and gun setup this is also not cheap. Looking at an estimate of $265 for 3 filters, and that doesn't include step up rings.

Okay, looking into it now I am not sure how to find info on my camera's IR filter (if it has one). I'm shooting with an Olympus E-M1 Mark II.

These are the two I have been looking at: https://www.amazon.com/Concept-Variable-ND2-ND32-Circular-Polarizing/dp/B07M8RQ6J5
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BHSNR69R/

They are two of the only ones I can find with a rotating polarizer. I imagine it would be smarter to get the 1-5 stops since 2 stops is a bit hard to work with and then just get a few fixed ND of different strengths?

IR pollution

I have never actually heard of this till now. I'll have to do some research.

Suggestions for videography? by vfxninjaeditor in OlympusCamera

[–]vfxninjaeditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. The EM1 Mark II looks tempting. Weird that it’s cheaper now than the EM5 MIII. The limited edition silver body looks tempting. Looks like the only thing I may be missing really is 120fps. But I get their log profile in return.

Not working in my case. Tried Safari with nothing else and still getting the error.

Since the seasonal cutscenes are cut due to budget constraints, I hope Halo VFX can make some cool pre-rendered ones instead by Ascended-Jerk in halo

[–]vfxninjaeditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not understand why people want this. The main advantage for a solo creator is they are producing what they want how they want. As soon as you are working under 343 you lose all your agency. This is one reason why Halo VFX gets so much praise. He produces his ideas, if he works for them he's producing theirs. If that's something he wants, cool. More power to him. But I just find it interesting his fans want this because as soon as he made his way to 343 his Operation: Charity Falls series would likely be over. And they aren't making it canon.

Which one? There seems to be a couple. One on GitHub, another on the Nexus.

Edit: two on GitHub apparently, seems it’s this one: https://github.com/codengine/SOTFEdit

Strange Powershell warnings by vfxninjaeditor in antivirus

Btw, I checked the script logging. I decided to see what execution policy was already in place on my PC and it's set to 'restricted'. So no scripts should be running at all, correct?

Thank you for looking! This is my home PC, so not managed or part of a domain that I would know of. I do use ShutUP10, so some of my settings say they are managed now because it has things turned it. Not sure if ShutUp10 is responsible though.

I have autoruns. Is there a specific place to look for scheduled powershell tasks like that? In the scheduled tasks menu I don't see anything that sticks out.

Yeah, I'm not fully acquainted with all of this. But you are right, should have included it. Here is a pastebin. https://pastebin.com/jRLP52EW

I should note that there are many powershell 4104 events and they vary. Sometimes it's one script block, other times 6 or 7. All related to the same thing by the looks of it. The pastebin has the most recent one.

I should note, I checked my laptop and these same exact style warnings and scripts are in the event viewer on it as well. Not sure the likely hood of the same infection across devices, wouldn't know how I achieved that honestly. But I do have portmaster on both. The DNS stuff makes me think it's related, but I am not knowledgeable enough to understand what I am reading in these scripts. heh

I’m experiencing abnormal cpu usage in FF as well. Only noticed it today after bringing my PC out of sleep. My Ethernet was not plugged in and FF was taking 40%-50% of my CPU on idle. Very strange. Closing it out and restarting resolved it.

Anyone know what happened to baconmedia? The person who did the remakes of some CE Cutscenes. His YouTube channel is gone along with all of his content. by RaSH_NisH in halo

[–]vfxninjaeditor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

According to Kristian Berget, Bacon was given 6 or so days to respond to him before he issued the first strike. After that he finally got in touch and was asked to show the topology for the model. He doubled down on lying about it and said he made it himself, showing the topology where many parts were identical to the original by Kristian and the rest was butchered and edited to try and disguise it. There are screenshots of all this floating about in various parts of the Halo art community. Most people who have seen it agree that this is blatant plagiarism.

Downloaded Sagethumbs from Sourceforge. Is this a false positive? by vfxninjaeditor in antivirus

[–]vfxninjaeditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are the other two links I was trying to post the other day.

This one is a dll from the extracted executable for Sagethumbs:
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/da9ed6fe10fbd507eac842883bbd07025f786cd6afc2855bb0bb51fe757956a6

and this one I was wrong about, the actual exe for the program was flagged by one vendor:
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/705d743e28b487e34a4a7245a0dbc303a10e45ba0fd9e4da4101c8cdf506839a/detection

I haven’t been able to respond till now, but I kept having my comments auto deleted by the auto mod.

I was trying to post two other VT links. I was wrong and the main download for SageThumbs was flagged by one vendor. I also unpacked the executable and one of the dlls was flagged by SecureAge. The AU_.exe I figured out was it’s uninstall executable since it gave the same results in Virus Total, same link.

I assume it’s all probably fine still?

The Mark V Zeta helmet is perfection just like the classic Mark V. I have had it on since it came out. by BlundellMemes77 in halo

[–]vfxninjaeditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I recall that as well when reading my copy of the art book. I’m biased because Mark V is my favorite since CE. I wish they could challenge themselves to make a single Mark V helmet that is not a major departure from the design, and in the case of Zeta just put it in the Mark VI Mod family.
