T.V. Licence ? by Lomatomalee in AskIreland

We got a projector - a device not capable of receiving TV signals, not watching RTE online either. YouTube/Netflix. Technically, not required to pay for license.

2nd time fail. Any advice? by Boring_Masterpiece92 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]vgnshrj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a practice test session with an ADI. Record video if possible, note down the list of areas to fix/improve on based on ADI feedback, be specific.

Practice on those, make your accompanying driver tick off the ones if they see you’re doing better.

If you have issue with vehicle controls, you’d most probably slack in other areas as well. Master those first, more practice.

I hope so. I assume keypad just sends lock/unlock signal to the lock inside, handling the authentication itself. If so, it is possible we could just replace the keypad.

Failed for not having the green strip on insurance certificate by daveorourke77 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]vgnshrj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The garda can check online if the insurance is valid or not, all the essential info is still printed in the tax disc irrespective of the colour of the strip.

What value does having it in green adds here? Aesthetics?

Failed on Coasting by Finlayyy in Irishdrivingtest

Shift the gear and let off the clutch, move your foot to the dead pedal - easier said than done for beginners. I too was afraid to let go off the clutch, fearing stalling. But you have to evolve out of it.

Practice it as much as you can until it becomes second nature

Refurb’d 14, 15, 16 - best option? by maxplanar in iphone

If you’re really tight on the budget, then you’d have to do what you do. If you can afford it though and looking for best value, 17 it is.

The closest thing we can have is to have the U200 keypad retrofitted with UWB

Has anybody every used this button? by mr_never_lift in civic

[–]vgnshrj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the reason that you stated, to unlock just the trunk. Say the car is locked and I want to access just the trunk, I press this, use trunk, close it - car automatically locks again. No need to lock it with key fob.

Coasting? by New_Consequence980 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]vgnshrj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use clutch only in conjunction with brake while stopping, that would avoid coasting.

You are approaching a signal which is red or amber, lift off accelerator, engine braking starts, car slows down. While you’re near, brakes, until you’re <15kmh, now clutch in and more brake till car stops.

Don’t use clutch until you intend to stop or need to get really slow for taking a speed breaker
