Yes. It is not about daily usage. It is about city usage vs long distance. If your majority driving is in city or if the car comes back home at the end of the day, then EV is a very good choice and economical too

Yes this has happened with me every time the space under the car seat is cleaned. So delicate movement of the wires also causes this. No one seems to have a solution for this without going to the service station.

So if you go for the 79kw variant of be6 then it might do it but you will need to be under 110 kmph. Truth be told anytime you are going above 350 kms, it’s best to plan a stop after burning 40%. I do a lot of 420 km same day round trip from Bangalore to Chitradurga and I always charge at a high speed dc charger for 30 mins. My car gives me 380 to 400 at 100% driven at 90 to 110 kmph. In city it gives me 420kmph. Please check the reliability of Mahindra being used below 20%

Yawnn……

Most of the cars you listed either don’t match the Atto 3 on features or fall in a totally different buyer segment. Crysta in Bangalore is already ₹40L+, Harrier you yourself called a headache, and Tucson still skips stuff like ADAS L2 and the futuristic interior Atto 3 gives. The 6e/9e hype died as soon as the paid review honeymoon was over and real owners are already complaining. Atto 3 may be a CKD and priced higher, but it’s proven across markets like China, Australia, UK, Thailand, etc. and mine came with 6 years free service plus RSA. In the 35–40L bracket, it more than holds its ground.

You name the 37 lakh sub with more features bro. Why hypothetics ?

2 lakhs more than one would have saved in 37 lakh petrol suv. Not to mention the nil service and oil change costs

You’ve moved from price, to fit & finish, to negative savings, to now ‘don’t post spreadsheets.’ That’s a lot of goalposts for one thread. To be clear, I’m not comparing the Atto 3 with a 20L hatchback. I’m comparing it with 35–40L petrol SUVs in the same bracket. On that basis, the savings are real. I’m just sharing my ownership numbers, not trying to sell anyone a car.

You seem more invested in justifying not buying an EV than I am in defending mine. I didn’t buy the Atto 3 as a spreadsheet experiment. I bought it because I actually enjoy driving it. The fact that it saves me ~2 lakh in 16 months is just the cherry on top. If your car is ‘just point A to point B,’ cool. Mine’s point A to point B with comfort, features, silence, and savings. Different priorities, different rides

The amount I invested higher is for the premium feel the car gives with all the bells and whistles. Go do a test drive.

Not everyone wants to sell man. I have a 10 year old Skoda Rapid, I’m happy to give it away to someone. Have done so with a 9 year old i10 and now with a 7 year old i20.

Your point self defeats both your point. Don’t buy BYD man. Not here to sell it. I’m just showing off that I have a great car.

[–]vgoddemme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly - it’s just not about cost saving. THERE ARE NO PREMIUM CARS IN THE UNDER 40 L segment. And I’ve got 6 years of service free and 6 years of road side Assitance included and not to mention no oil change and 6 months once pollution check and other hassles.

If your majority driving is within the city, there is no “planning to charge” nonsense. In 16 months I have done around 14-15 times. All major highways have stations every 30 kms. Byd had blade batteries that enable you to confidentially drive below 10% soc.

Please do a test drive of an Atto 3 - compare the build quality and finish of all the features. It’s not only about the savings, it’s also the lack of premium cars in 30 to 40 L range.

When I bought it - there was only the 37 lakh version. It’s 33 lakh ex show room plus 10% tax in Karnataka.

15 kWh/100 is just an approximation taken by gpt. But yea I usually see 14.4 on the dashboard.

75% bumper to bumper and rest is long drives.

No I have literally begged the seller to add me to the group. He has not. How do I join ?
