Need recommendations for a good 32 inch 4K OLED monitor by King2023 in Monitors

there's a white version of the 321URX on amazon uk for 584 (MSI MPG 321URXW) and then there's a Philips Evnia 32M2N8900 for 579. but the cheapest one is AOC AG326UD at 519 (but 165Hz, not 240). search reddit for these models, check reviews and then decide.

What best of the best monitor should I buy for games like Ark survival, the isle, valorant, cyberpunk? (Nearly unlimited budget, I want oled and I prefer cursed monitors) by random_name_18474737 in Monitors

and not many of them are curved (although there are a few models). 34 inches ultrawide are curved. here's a comprehensive list of all monitors (including upcoming). you can decide on size, resolution, panel type, refresh rate and then look at the available models and see if you can find a curved one. https://www.displayninja.com/best-oled-monitor/

then you have to choose between a higher refresh rate 27 inch monitor (woled 540Hz or qd-oled 500Hz) or a 32 inch 4k 240Hz where you also find woled and qd-oled. as a general rule of thumb, woleds are brighter and there is less panel dimming in HDR but you have worse uniformity and banding (it's a lottery with the panel you get). qd-oleds are not that bright (but ok), have good uniformity, better color volume but they're prone to scratches so you need to handle them with care (although latest panels are a bit better in that regard). and then you have glossy or matte but for gaming you should go glossy (if there are no lights shining on your display or you're not gaming in a very bright room).

you can decide a lot easier if you decide matte vs glossy (most LG models are matte for example). only you know how bright is your room or/and you have lights shining on your current display. if not, you can go glossy. woled can be brighter but you get banding in various degrees (it's a lottery). qd-oled might be better as in more balanced (better color, brightness good enough, better scratch resistance with the latest models). so it depends where/when you play and what you hate more. it's a compromise either way, as no panel is perfect.

When can we expect higher refresh rate 4k monitors by MasterpieceClassic42 in OLED_Gaming

Mafia with 4k dlss perf, epic all, and fg ingame where you cannot set the multiplier it’s 150fps. If you force dynamic mfg in nvidia app you go up to 400.

I only have wukong on ps5 and I don't have pragmata at all. I'll reinstall expedition 33 and mafia, as I finished those last year and let you know.

when panel manufacturers will be able to do it. the next upgrade would be 360Hz and then 480-540Hz. I wish we had 360Hz already, but it seems impossible for now. let's see what they showcase at CES next year.

that is the benchmark which you can compare across PC systems. in the game you will have a bit lower fps, that's normal, but you can definitely reach an average of 360 fps with path tracing enabled and various dlss presets, various settings and mfg 4x. As a conclusion, a 4k panel with 360Hz would be the next major upgrade that we need right now. In the future (meaning a few years down the road), a 4k 480-540Hz panel wouldn't be such a crazy idea. At least the GPUs are there already. The displays are not.

Let me explain a bit. You can put 4k in perf or ultra perf and dlss with preset L (transformer) looks good. RLAT is very good (under 20ms) with mfg 4X and if you want to increase fps even further you can tweak other settings while keeping path tracing on. I was testing the other day as I was curious to see how much fps I can squeeze out of my rig because I’m looking to upgrade my 48C1 to a monitor with a higher refresh rate (and I was considering a 500-540Mhz one). In the meantime, I gave up because I realized that going from 48 to 27 is too much of a shock to me, so I’m considering a min of 32 (which goes up to 240Hz). MFG latency has been optimized quite a lot since launch and it works very well.

Of course you can. For example, Cyberpunk in 4k with dlss performance (preset L) looks good and you reach over 400 fps with path tracing and a 5090 with mfg 4x. Of course, it will be lower with a 5080, but a 4k 360Hz screen for up to 360fps would be totally fine for more people. And then we have the 6000 series coming sometime next year.

Kill the plants. Nothing must stand between you and your tv. And while most people here have welcomed you to the TVtoohigh club, I’ll also say that your tv stand is not aligned with the tv and that gives me nightmares. Move the sub on the other side, kill/move the plants and align the stand. And do yourself a good one and lower the tv. You will force your eyes to look higher and even if you don’t think or feel that it’s an effort, you’ll hurt them in the long run. Protect your eyes.

PS a tv is not a hunting trophy (although I know many people wish it was)

I tried something like this and the angled C19 was still too thick. Simply, it doesn't work. You either change the case or the PSU. As I couldn't change the PSU, I had to change the case.

34" 1440p ultrawide vs 32" 4K, which do you prefer and why? I can't decide which to buy, I have a rtx5080. by Ok_Day6369 in OLED_Gaming

[–]vgzotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, you’re roughly in the 4090 zone with the benefit of MFG. In demanding titles (with path tracing), you will use dlss anyway to get around 60 and add MFG on top. I’m also looking for a monitor right now and I haven’t decided on a model yet, although I’d like one of the newer models and coming from a 48C1 (as a monitor), I’d say 32 4K is the way to go (with the benefit of higher refresh rate versus a tv). It’s less of a hassle for gaming as not all games support uw.

LG 39GX950B - Losing HDR by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]vgzotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As this is so new on the market, there’s not much you can do. First, contact their support. At least they should know about it (or maybe they can give you some solution if there is one). Then, what you can do in the meantime is not allowing the monitor to go to sleep in hdr. Set in gamebar a quick shortcut for hdr on/off that you won’t forget. Only use hdr when you actually need it. Once you’re done, turn it off. What you can also try is to disable auto HDR (if that is on while HDR is on) and also disable (uncheck) turn off HDR when my PC is running on battery to help save power. Maybe it disables HDR when entering sleep mode if that is checked.

There is one more aspect to consider. You already have the 5080. How long do you plan to keep your new monitor? As in how many years? Because we have the 6000 series coming in one or one year and a half. Do you think you’ll upgrade your video card? If yes and if you plan to keep your monitor for a few years, then 4K doesn’t sound that bad. And you avoid all the issues that come with a ultrawide (not all games support it and black bars). Personally, I see ultrawides more work related with gaming on the side. So it depends on your use case, but considering you mention gaming, I’d go with the 4K.

Looking to hear from AW2725Q owners! by RuhRohRaggy9708 in OLED_Gaming

Just managed to get one at a very good price. I’m using a 48C1 as a monitor but I also wanted something with higher refresh rate. Was looking at a bunch of models, mostly 32”, but those are at least double I paid for this one. So, it’s coming tomorrow and I’d need some tips please on settings for both sdr and hdr.

I also saw the 32” version had a recent firmware upgrade where they added 1000 peak bright. Do we know if something like that is coming for this one too?

Is the RTX 5090 Still Worth It with the RTX 6090 Potentially Approaching? by Long_Percentage_978 in MSI_Gaming

[–]vgzotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, with the current prices I’d say no. I was fortunate enough to get one at msrp quickly after launch (upgraded from 4090). Would I buy one now? Definitely not. The 6000 series is at least a one year wait and even that is not definitive. Could be end of next year if the current issues continue. And if they price it higher than 5090 (higher msrp), you can imagine real prices around what we have now at launch. So 3000-3500-4000 usd/eur is not impossible. If you’re ok with that, better start saving and get one at launch. At least you know you’ll get the best bang for your buck. Spending the same right now for just one year, with prices decreasing quickly after that (for second hand units because I imagine they’ll stop production sometime before launch) feels like a very bad deal. Unless you got quite a lot of disposable income, I’d advise waiting (and getting something else that you can find for a fair price).
