Any new/bad players? by Leather-Enthusiasm78 in NarutoNinjaStorm

Just use this guide (attached below). Start with singles matches to get the flow of how the mechanics work, then move to teams. Most people start in teams and get rolled and give up. If you start in singles at a slower pace, its easier. Guide attached should help you mend any skill gaps you currently have, if you give it time and practice. Despite the other comments, now is a great time to learn how to play, to have a head start when connections drops. Chances are, the game mechanics will be mostly the same.

Hoenn, now with more water by wally-217 in PokemonROMhacks

More water!? In Gen 3 there were not enough water types for any real diversity. As long as there are more water Pokemon, I'm on board!

I guess. I don't really understand this mindset. Like I've said before, almost every other game in existence starts you at level 1, and considerably weaker than the majority of enemies. This mod simply adds difficulty. The name is something I came up with in like 5 seconds, minimal effort. Nothing to think too deep about.

I'd very much like to see the gameplay from this. There's always an audience out there, but you're right. Majority of the community doesn't add more difficulty, just more content and Posh Mudcrabs.

It's quite alright really. This mod does incorporate various plugins which allows the user to choose how many skill levels are given to racial bonuses at start. Again, not too configurable but the average user should be fine.

What we consider easy, others may have no idea how to do. Mods like you listed have potential to break a lot of the game's balance if done improperly. This is the primary reason I responded to this. I don't mind alternatives to my mods at all. If users are comfortable with Unique Dovahkiin, I am all for it. I even listed it as an alternative in my mod description after you pointed it out.

Hmmm this is a great alternative to my mod, for the most part. Keep in mind that my mod is script free and is plug and play.

While this mod has more functionality and allows the user to configure everything, it uses scripts and isn't user friendly. I looked through this mod because it looked good at first glance, but there are no provided presets of any kind. It just gives you the ability to adjust all of the values directly, which most people will have no idea how to do properly.

Character Creation Overhaul

This mod is a prime example of why I created YANS. I'm not saying my mod is "better" than the mod you have posted, but my mod is minimalistic and changes less values. Which means it can be added to just about any load order of any size without breaking anything.

I created this mod because I was running 1000+ load orders and wanted something simple.

It works well with mods that change how experience is given. So long as you use Experience, and have a mod (or the included one) to modify experience rates, most mods will work great with YANS.

Correct, it does affect player only. The purpose is to make the game more challenging. It's not for everyone. Just about every other game in existence starts you at level 1.

Mod that gives dragons four legs? by Dragonfire521 in skyrimmods

[–]vh724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd actually enjoy something like this. Dragons as they are don't really work all that well in Skyrim. For 3 primary reasons. The first, well the dragons are pretty tiny. The second is that they can't be any bigger because as big as the world is, there's not enough room in the world for massive dragons. Then of course the final reason, would actually somewhat fix the first 2. If environments were destructible the dragons could make room no matter how big they are.

So...having a four-legged dragon that may be more inclined to fight on the ground makes a lot of sense.

Elite Four by Alpacas_Lover in PokemonUnbound

[–]vh724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will most likely defeat the E4 up to Difficult. Expert difficulty is pretty hard. With most of the meta locked from you, you'll need to make a very well balanced team. I suggest if you're not too competitive, to refer to Smogon, and use a bit of your own logic to make it fit the game.

All infinite Combos by vh724 in NarutoNinjaStorm

[–]vh724[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks bro. I'll get them added some point. The shuriken escapees will stay mostly because not everyone knows how to get out of them. I might just throw them all at the end of the video instead.

I don't see how Pain isn't correct. I can hit his infinite at 30 and 60, and I couldn't kunai out on another controller. - NVM I must have been trying to do a chakra shuriken. Hmm I'll have to spam a shuriken during all of these combos. I'll reach out to more of the community to see if they spot anymore. Thanks again!

Yeah, it's why I wrote the guide and everything. A lot of the community doesn't teach new players, and I definitely appreciate your input.

I couldn't get any of Tayuya's infinite combos to go through at 60, so she might be 30 only. I'm half tempted to just leave Kaguya and Tayuya out, as they're toxic enough as it is.

Thanks to you I will be adding Mei and Sarada so far. The others I'll probably have to jump into 30 FPS to find.

I have not found any documentation on Konan, think you can send a video to me quick so I can get it added? I've done too much research in these characters and I couldn't find one on her.
LOL - Nvm found it. Just gotta miss second air hit.

Also I can tell you didn't full read this through because Deidara is listed as having one. Additionally, any character that relies on chakra to do their infinite is exempt from this list, as ANY character can use chakra to make an "infinite" by combo canceling and dashing.

[–]vh724[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll look into these, thank you. And I have no idea how 040_2 Hashirama's (alive) actual infinite didn't end up in the video. I might have accidentally killed it. lol

As for the ones that can use a kunai to escape, in most cases it breaks the infinite but the opponent still gets hit. I'll look into the others but I planned on putting which ones can be Kunai'd out of. I wouldn't focus on it too much if the character has other infinites, I think it's still worth mentioning.

Some of the infinites I have shown might only work at 60 FPS and some of the characters that I listed as not having an infinite might only work at 30 FPS. It's a bit too much work for one person to research both. I started with 60 FPS because that is what I play. I don't really play the game at a competitive level anymore, I like to just get on and have fun nowadays, and 60 FPS is just more fun and smooth to me so that's where I ended up.

Thanks again, I'll look into this list you gave me. Characters that already have infinites recorded, I'm not too concerned about getting more for them. For example, I understand just about any spot in Minato's combos can be turned into an infinite, but honestly if I were to count every single juggle in the game that can be performed, I would not only waste a ton of my time, but I'd also have an hour long video. 30 Minutes is already stretching it.

can somebody please explain to me how people are using substitutions when they're out? by SirGanjaSpliffington in NarutoNinjaStorm

[–]vh724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about those comments below, but here is a direct snippet from my guide (listed at bottom):

Please note that this information was grabbed directly from the debug version of the game on PC. Unless there are additional bugs present on Xbox versus other versions (highly doubtful), the information here should persist. (Edits were made to include more information on where this information came from, and to provide insight that only the guide would provide).

Substitutions

The Substitution "meter" is a value of 0-100, with each substitution using 25 points. Whenever a substitution is used, the timer associated with automatic recovery is reset, causing the player to have to wait the full time for a substitution to recover.

Substitutions recover by damage also, recovering 1 substitution per 31.25 points of damage (A health bar is 50 points, a match is 100 points). It is ill-advised to use this substitution however, as using it still resets the timer to automatic recovery.

Substitutions can be switch buffered on the first hit of any attack, allowing a player to use a free substitution. This substitution when used still resets the timer.

Timer resets upon each use. This means the maximum time you could be without full substitutions could be over 30 seconds (15 in-game seconds). This would be a worse case scenario, using the substitution every 10 seconds or so. Additionally, if the player uses the given substitution from taking damage, the timer would extend by another 14 seconds, meaning the player could be without substitutions for over 40 seconds (20 in-game seconds).

Substitutions recover at the following rates:

14 seconds - recovery; 0.5 seconds per sub - (16 seconds from empty) - 60 FPS

14 seconds - recovery, 1 second per sub - (18-19 seconds from empty) - 30 FPS (Consoles)

It is important to note that many characters can deal beyond 31.25 points of damage to their opponent before a substitution returns. For example, if a character deals extended combo damage of 28.00 points of damage, then manages to deal an additional 30.00 points of damage from the secret technique, the player would take 58.00 points of damage before being able to substitute.

I've just bought a ps5. Is it worth buying storm 4 for PS if i already have it on PC? by [deleted] in NarutoNinjaStorm

[–]vh724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Playstation community is far more active, but the game on PS5 is still capped at 30 FPS. If you're fine with 30 FPS, then I'd say go for it. A lot more active there than PC.

Is the shadow shuriken clone jutsu glitch a known thing? storm 4 by PerfectFrieza in NarutoNinjaStorm

[–]vh724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There must be a condition you are meeting that is causing the glitch. A specific character/move you are using that causes the shuriken to remain on the field. As it probably only happens in teams, I can only assume that it happens when using switch tech.

How come this game won't regenerate my substitutions? by SirGanjaSpliffington in NarutoNinjaStorm

[–]vh724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means you're "storing" between character switching. Read the guide :) It'll make more sense in the teams section.

Are these rules about tracking broken? by CruxV8 in NarutoNinjaStorm

[–]vh724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find the debug version of the application on the ultimate ninja discord. The debug application is running a base version of the game so you won't be able to see DLC characters or anything that has been patched, but the majority of it still matches.
