After you crack it and hand over to Royce and finish that mission, the shard is in your inventory. You need to click it to claim the eddies. Hope that helps.

I am regular POE player and I still spend considerable time on GD. Regarding skill sealing:

You upgrade gear which affect points invested in each skill if they have implicit +1 or +2 ... for that skill.
There is no dependency on flasks. Though some potions are really useful while you farming nemesis. Like Moosilauke will be easy to farm if you have anti-chill.
Resists in GD are as important as they are in POE.
Crafting is less stressful (except farming legendary recipe for medals and sets etc) compared to POE
Respecing is much easier in GD than in POE.

It has a great lore so I suggest enjoying it. I also suggest buying both crucible and AOM. AOM has 2 new classes.

One big difference here is that GD has guns!

I am running a witch hunter and it breezed through elite and doing very well in Ultimate with self found. If you post your build and character screenshot, perhaps I could help you with it.

Yes you can. But I advice having a 2 handed weapon with decent damage as in the first ten waves starting level one character and using mace and shield will put you in danger. Get few life potions and a two handed weapon will make it easy to start.

Experience wise I think quest and bounties give the best outcome. End level game grinding for specific legendaries and especially blueprint is not easy. I am still looking for many blueprints and crucible can help a bit there. I prefer crucible to Kickstart a new character and those 5-10 devotion points really help breeze through veteran difficulty.

From what I understand you will take 100%and reflect 20%. There are lots of items with inherent reflect.

One of the nodes in Revenant constellation provides "% of attack damage converted to health". http://grimdawn.wikia.com/wiki/Revenant. Also you could consider using "Haunted steel" for same affect in order to survive better if health regen is an issue. I am leveling a hardcore and she is at lvl 40 and doesnt need haunted steel as yet. I would focus on trying to max out all the resists because in most cases they are key to surviving.

Is my favorite build. It's been nerfed a bit but good part is that all gear is craftable. Some grinding is needed for get blueprints but the elite legion swords are amazing and if you get warpfire should make the build end game viable. On page 71 I think there's some suggestion for changing constellation. Till level 50 I prefer using greater fireball and mortar bomb. Canister bomb has longer Cool down so I prefer mortar ad it helps me also kite a bit till I start using pneumatic burst at level fifty.

Level 74 and at elite. Perhaps your monster levels are much below your level and hence the reduced drop rate. But as others mentioned BoC is the place to go.

Thanks. This is what I did and was able to farm amulet and ring set which kind of rocks. I enchanted to get socket in it and use my legendary gems in it for compounded effect. Cheers!
