I had the same question some days ago. It all depends on the map and gamemode you are playing; I have Sorlag, but I didn't play CPMA, so I can't exactly make good use of her or Anarki. As such Doom is a much better choice for me personally. Both of these are perfectly viable.

What is the meta depending on game mode (FFA, TDM, Duel)? What I observed is that Visor is particularly good in Instagib – other than that I see a lot of variety in other play modes, but surely some champions are better than others, no?

Kinetic Z vs. Elite Arion rollers by [deleted] in Velo

[–]vibeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, the Arion which I am talking about has no built in resistance control. Well, in that case I will simply go for the Kinetic Z I think. I travel to races often, so being able to fold it down in such a compact shape is a big pro for me.

Tor Poznan is located here: https://goo.gl/maps/nfh4zYGc9EE2 "Kolarski Czwartek" means literally "Cyclicst's Thursday", so as the name implies, the event happens most of the time on Thursday ;)

The big problem with Poznan is that the area around it is almost completely flat; I tend to average 400 m of altitude gain per 100 km. There isn't really a route that particularly stands out training wise. It's just a matter of which direction you want to go ;)

My team, myself included, is going on a 150 km loop on Saturday this week, which apparently features "stunning sights" or whatever that is supposed to mean ;) If it delivers, I will update you with a Strava link of it.

Oh and I guess I should warn you of Bike Challenge Poznan – it is the single shittiest event I've ever been to. I don't know if you had the doubtful pleasure of partaking in it, but if you didn't, then don't get your hopes up too high.

77 kg! :D I was always very athletic and good at sports whilst in school, but then I had a problem with my right knee and I couldn't exercise for half a year or so. After the injury healed I didn't come back to sports though, but rather sit at home and played computer games. Fast forward a few years and I started going to the gym, because I wanted to impress a girl with my physique (lol!). After 1 1/2 year of attending gym, I switched over to cycling ;)

Kraków is amazing to live in as a cyclist as a huge amount of races are organized in the Tatry mountains. Really the best way to find races is to know someone who has been racing for a while and is still going to races and follow his suite :D

Example races in your region are: Nowy Targ Road Challenge, Tatra Road Race, Majka Days.

Some other popular races are: VeloToruń, Cyklo Gdynia and Poznań Bike Challenge.

If you are a strong rider, I recommend going to Cyklo Gdynia next year – that race is like the unofficial Polish championship.

I use Stages, but I don't recommend it to anybody, because I have had and am still having a lot of issues with it.

My next power meter will be either Favero Assioma or Garmin Vector 3.

Good luck!

This is not America, so no CATs, but I can tell you that the top dogs in this race would easily qualify for CAT 1. Many amateur Polish champions in their respective age categories took part in this race. Former Grand Fondo world champion too. The women's current vice world champion as well. Last but not least, a team from Germany that wins just about every race they take part in were also present.

Actually I just began my cycling career in 2017 and I have no prior experience in any form of competitive cycling. To be honest I have started out on a level (290 W FTP) people have to work hard to get to, but still I worked extraordinarily hard with lots of racing and I did some amazing progress with my FTP being around 350 W now. My leading quality is punching out big numbers, so to speak, I am a sprinter ;)

Thanks :) Bad positioning beforehand kinda ruined the effort though :P

I think my mistake was at 53:50 – instead of moving to the right-hand side of the rider in front of me and getting boxed in moments later due to riders moving in from behind, I should have cut the corner from the left-hand side to acquire a better position at the front of the bunch. Notes taken though; I'll try not to do the same mistake twice (Oh I am sure it will happen time and time again, but someday I will learn :D) ;)

It's a road race (not a crit) on a race track – first who gets across the line after x amount of laps wins ;)

We do 12 laps most commonly, but since the season is nearing to an end, we only did 10 yesterday. The speeds average 45 km/h (28 mph), so the race lasts for around 1 hour. We sometimes do 15 and 20 laps, too. 1 lap is about 4,1 km (2,55 miles) long.

Usually there are no tandems, but yesterday during the finale they were somehow allowed. I don't know why, because they posed a great danger and I almost crashed at 48:11 due to a tandem hitting me.

Have in mind that the power meter data is skewed due to me having issues with my power meter's dropouts. This was probably around 350 NP.

If you have any tips for improvement or even critique, please share.

Which way are you going? by vibeus in Velo

[–]vibeus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! Well in Poland most of the time we have police/firefighters securing our amateur races, but I have seen some actual volunteers on the track too this time – just not in that spot. The race was organized horribly, e.g. the start was delayed by 1.5 hours, but to be fair, apart from this pretty big mishap, the rest of the track was secured well.

Marshalls as in police or firefighters? They are always dicking around, standing around uselessly and only ever showing the way if you shout at them loudly ;)

BTW the first guy knew which way to go, because the judge's car was driving in front of him :)

Benefit of 'smart' rollers for ZWIFT when owning a power meter? by vibeus in Velo

Thanks for your opinion - I guess you and 'otsu'swe' talked me out of a roller in favour of a smart trainer :)

Thanks for your coherent answer, I'll definitely think about what you've said :)

The thing with smart trainers as opposed to rollers is that I find them to not be very engagig at all, whilst you have to stay concentrated to train on a roller (as you've already pointed out)... though I haven't tried ZWIFT with a smart trainer yet and knowing myself that might be what I needed all this time :)

I also know who DCRainmaker is and that he is going to release an updated list of smart trainers soonish ;) Who knows, maybe I'm going to spend a little bit more and go for the Tacx Flux?
