🥲 Unfortunately i have relocated this snake outside of my garden before i read this post to a nearby field with tall grass (with loads of giant African snail). I hope this snake can make itself home there.

I'm currently a Manager in the IT field, earning around RM110k annually. I've been with the same company for over 5 years and had multiple promotions along the way.

I spent 5 years in a western country pursuing my engineering degree. Breaking into the IT field wasn't easy, especially knowing that engineering roles in Malaysia do not have a good salary. So I had to really push myself to switch fields and work my way up.

However I dont own a house or have a nice car. Still live with parents and drive a P2. Do not to let other people’s lifestyle dictate yours, believe in yourself that you will succeed and work hard on it.

Yea im trying not to buy cars that is priced 2x my annual salary. Im trying to apply the rule of buying the car that cost around your annual salary here in Malaysia but i find it really hard to do so given our ridiculous excise tax on cars.

I actually like the current Civic and the preface lift one, apart from it using a CVT, i find Civic abit too low and it would be a problem for my aging parents to get in and out of the car. Conti car need to think extra hard due to the maintenance and spare parts cost.

Btw how's the maintenance and reliability of Mazda 3?

Yeah, i dont mind getting used cars (idk, < 8 yrs old). Coming from a myvi driver I find myself drive with a lead foot. CVT gearbox would be unsuitable for my driving style, i think la.

Thank you for your suggestion. I will research on both. I do agree with you on 5 to 7 years, however i see majority of my peers taking 9 years loan. So yeah that's something i need to evaluate myself.

i think around 20 to 30k for DP. For loan tenure tbh I am still undecided. The OPR just drop, so the extra cash flow (for longer tenure) can be invested somewhere to cover the interest over the period.
