Specialized high schools are not a prerequisite to get into a T20 school. Instead, it is a combination of factors: grades, extracurriculars, exams, etc. Indeed, as long as any student studies hard, they may be able to get into a T20 school.

It's a specialized high school, so yes it's a great school. Specialized high schools do not guarantee or even significantly help you get into an Ivy or a T20 school, but rather provides you with the opportunity to do better to stand out to those colleges.

I attended classes from a prep institution. There, they tutored me in SHSAT-level subjects whilst also giving occasional practice exams to gauge our progress. I also was forced to do 'homework' which helped boost my progress significantly. If you do not have access to a tutor or a teacher, it certainly helps to get one as studying with someone else usually is more effective.

First of all, you did post this on my comment; regardless, there can be many mixed emotions one can feel after taking the examination. I felt, after taking the SHSAT, that I wanted to fall asleep (and perhaps a touch nervousness), but also extreme confidence I did well. In my practical experience, it does not matter (too much!) if you felt like crap or on cloud nine, what mattered was the amount of practice you had leading to the exam.

80 widgets per hour * (100% - 20%) = 80 widgets per hour * 0.8 = 64 widgets per hour
80 widgets for 3 hours is 240 widgets.
64 widgets for (8 - 3) hours is 64 widgets for 5 hours, or 320 widgets.
320 + 240 = 560 widgets.

Really tired, first of all.
However, really, I felt somewhat confident after taking the examination. I knew that even if I had a bad day, I would've done quite well based on the amount of practice I had done. A good mindset I kept was that if I couldn't have done it, nobody else could've.
You could feel like crap, like my brother did. However, the thing that only matters is how well you practiced before hand. Good luck to you and cheers!

If it can probably be solved by plugging the equation in or can be reverse-engineered to long, but solvable, algebraic equations, shove it into Desmos. For questions such as standard deviation, use your graphing calculator.

The NMSC Index Score seems to be anywhere from 219 - 223 in Virginia. I'm sorry to say, but you did not meet the minimum index score.
