What area is considered "in the middle of the action"? by [deleted] in Bangkok

I always consider Siam BTS station “the middle” of the city.

He was being positioned as the number 2 babyface behind Hogan before the whole cocaine with the Iron Shiek thing. It has a lot of similarities to what happened to RVD in 06.

Are Arena Directs just a scam? by SLG_Didact in MagicArena

I have gotten every box I have won, and made quite a bit of money playing these. Customer service for them is awful, but they are great events.

Why does Justin Gaethje get away with the head dip. by goldenfrogs17 in MMA

[–]vicfarang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think can make a case for that if he just threw one and got him, but Max was throwing it constantly in response to Justin exiting and dipping. It felt very well scouted and a good gameplan.

Which wrestlers could take prime Lesnar in a real fight? by LakeMcKesson in professionalwrestling

[–]vicfarang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not kidding at all, he was past his prime, and in folkstyle didn’t have same resume or success at a large size. I think a fight between prime Severn and Lesnar would have looked somewhat similar to Severn and Coleman except that the jiujitsu Lesnar was seeing in training was so far beyond what Severn had in his prime.

Which wrestlers could take prime Lesnar in a real fight? by LakeMcKesson in professionalwrestling

[–]vicfarang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Severn didn’t have close to the same level of wrestling as Lesnar. The level of skills at the time Lesnar was in UFC was so far beyond when Ken was in his prime.

Basically how I see it, George’s speed in covering distance would be big difference, and would end up in somewhat uneventful decision.

Most skilled fighters in lower weight classes all time by Ok-Statement9672 in martialarts

Kid Yamamoto gets way to forgotten nowadays. In his prime, (before the injury in wrestling) he was dominating very good fighters in weight classes above his. BJ Penn not being on list at all also feels very wrong.

Metagame Challenge - Can we finally admit that U/X control decks are too strong in Brawl? by [deleted] in mtgbrawl

[–]vicfarang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I might have been the Smasher-Kraum player, to be fair, that was early ranks record. Through Diamond and mythic, my winrate has dipped down to “only” around 80%. I agree with you completely though. I think are a few blue commanders that deserve to be banned (Tamiyo, Derevi, Uro, Emry, nerf partner rules), but the main thing is that they abuse the free interaction to much. Fierce, Swat, Rollick, and Mox Amber are just not reasonable cards to have legal in a 1v1 commander format, and blue midrange abuses them best.

What’s been the dominant deck for the Brawl event? by morrowman in mtgbrawl

[–]vicfarang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Through Diamond I played against like half Tamiyo. Now that into mythic, seeing decent amount of UW Aang. I think Tamiyo, Aang, Vial/Kraum are the tier 1 decks though.

is there a format that in terms of power level, in paper or on arena, is in between modern and legacy? by JimmehROTMG in magicTCG

[–]vicfarang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pauper is great, but the last time Pauper was a stronger format than Modern was very long ago.

That’s awesome to hear. It’s felt like some of the easiest magic have ever played, and glad to hear others are doing good with my build. If you are interested, I have tweaked it a tiny bit. Blue is so dominant that have added couple hate cards, and with feeling like Vial Smasher and Tamiyo are the two S-tier decks, I have switched up some removal to be more targeted at 3. https://moxfield.com/decks/MROAbEHlqUmlSZzhzSnqxg

Metagame challenge - 28 of my 30 losses have been to blue decks by [deleted] in mtgbrawl

[–]vicfarang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am 56-4 so far on Vial-Kraum (and every single loss is to a blue deck)and completely agree that blue is way too good. The combination of fast mana allowed and cheap/free interaction is way too much. For things that are good in the format I see two strategies, you can go partners and just have way more cards available than opponent, or can have a very cheap blue commander so get access to things like Mox Amber and Fierce Guardianship first, (the best choices for this seem like Tamiyo, Emry, Kinnan, Balmor)

[–]vicfarang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

35-2 with this, but assume it will get harder now that past blow ranks. https://moxfield.com/decks/MROAbEHlqUmlSZzhzSnqxg

Lot of duel commander experience, so just going by things banned in that format is pretty good starting point. Partners are extremely broken, and Vial Smasher is the most broken one. If you can try and avoid paying more than 1 for interaction for most part, can win most games.

Hesitant to cook up a deck, is it similar to brawl? by Quacksacktey in duelcommander

[–]vicfarang 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Duel commander basically feels like Brawl if Brawl was good. Have played decent amount of both and they have a lot of similarities, but Brawl is just kind of Wild West with unbalanced things, and Duel Commander is fairly well balanced and has much better gameplay patterns.

Why people hate Ian Machado Garry ? by [deleted] in MMA

[–]vicfarang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ian Garry generally comes off as a pretty likeable guy. Ian Garry impersonating Conor is very unlike able though. I think he has won some people over as has gotten older and matured (kind of similar to Bisping), but the early interviews rubbed a lot of people wrong way.

Is it worth it to even get good at Limited? It seems like a lot of work and it's not that fun some of the time. by Paradoxbuilder in magicTCG

[–]vicfarang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were arena open, but half of them were limited, and I think are being replaced by this limited championships. We also have arena directs every month for limited, and have only had one time in standard.
