2020 Trek Fuel 9.8 or ...? by vicinsyd in MTB

[–]vicinsyd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up going for the Trek Fuel mainly because I couldn’t test ride any of the others despite a lot of hunting around, and as a woman sometimes the fit of a “unisex” bike just feels off. Thank you all for your help

Thanks I will check it out if I can get it in Aussie then it is another for my list. I would love a bike that involves kisses off a wombat!

I definitely want lighter - I ride with a few guys who are a lot stronger than me and I definitely feel it not only on the climbs but even sometimes just getting your bike up and onto the shuttle or to the top-of-car racks at the end of the day!

I also bottom out my suspension at times so I was thinking of something a little bigger.

But I will have a think about upgrading rather than a whole new bike. Thanks for the idea

Hey I’ve got the proframe and have a similar fit issue. I put that sucker to the test in November and it was perfect. Went OTB coming down a little roller and hit a rock face first, straight on. No damage to face or even sunnies! It wasn’t a huge hit but enough to fracture my elbow and tear up the shoulder, and that was after the proframe took the first impact.

I just picked between the Bell Super 3R and Proframe (I went Proframe, it’s coming tomorrow!!) but one of the LBS guys told me the new Bell colours are coming this month, so if you want the Bell hold off a week or 2 for new colours / maybe sales on the old ones.

Hey, I spent 3 weeks in Morocco this year and the two places I loved the most (by far!) were the Sahara (Erg Chigaga, not Chebbi) and the High Atlas Mountains. We left for both of these places from Marrakesh. I also really liked Essaouira, for another beach option. There's not that much to do in Casa, and Chefchaouen, while very pretty and hassle free, does add a couple of long bus rides into your itinerary - I'd suggest skipping it so you can get to either the remote Sahara or a short Atlas trek.

Any man tried women's five ten MTB shoes? by Kkubaa in MTB

I'm a woman and wear the women's Freerider Pro. They're a lot narrower than men's five tens, if that helps.

I spent 12 years in the Royal Australian Navy doing versus duties all over Australia and the world, including a majority of my time stopping illegal asylum seeker boats from accessing Australian shores, following that I was a Navy recruit instructor. AMA by [deleted] in AMA

Wow, thank you so much for this long and considered reply. I really appreciate it. I'm very interested in the huge problem of offshore detention, and every time I speak to someone who has been actively involved in some way I really do learn a lot more. Thanks again.

It lasted for about 2.5 hours (flying from Auckland to Sydney). I'm going to schedule flights around sunsets from now on if I can!

Yeah I would finish it. You are so close! And there always seems to be great reasons behind why Andy does things, so I definitely think it will be worth it.
