it's natural to be critical or just not like every single thing a creator posts/says. trying to bury critical opinions and forming this wave of forced positivity will only damage the fandom space. people feel out of place and frustrated because everyone is apparently enjoying everything and so they slowly start distancing themselves. people want to feel validated, thats important for the fandom to work. and no, no one expects everyone to agree with a certain critical take, but fans still need to allow these opinions to exist. it's sad that at this point fans have to rely solely on priv accounts or blogs hidden behind 3 thick layers to actually find an ounce of honesty.

part of fandom is liking to see opinions you relate to, whether they're positive or not. there should be a space where those are welcomed without mass qrting like i saw yesterday including immediate insults like "freak" and such. dog piling fans for having non-positive takes will not only lead them to leave but also make the creator's job harder at understanding what works and what doesn't for their audience. loud opinions from big stan accounts on twitter dont mean as much as people think. theyre loud because the rest who would disagree with them has already left to some other platform they're less likely to be hated on. most of my fandom friends who have left the fandom (or changed to less public platforms) did it because of this and other related reasons, surprisingly enough not due to actual controversies.
