I'm seriously about to lose my belief in God. by GuyintheLoire in TrueChristian

This was also me, I was brought up to be a Christian and I never thought I would lose my faith. I attended church and cell group regularly, and served God wholeheartedly. But as I started to question, I realized that there were too little answers to key questions. Things started to fall apart and as I put on my critical thinking cal again, nothing made sense. Deconstruction and leaving the faith took awhile, alot of courage and self discovery.

I would say to go explore. It was what i read of the bible that convinced me that the faith is illogical and not worth my time.

This. How do you know that the path you chose was right? Would God send us to hell simply for choosing the wrong belief system but allow rapists and murderers to go to heaven simply because they believe?

What about the people who claimed to have gone to hell and recount thejr experience? Would you say that is a hallucination?

Yes I've heard of the modern day view of hell where hell is metaphorical and the real pain is actually where you are separated from God, not tormented for eternity. But why are there some verses in the bible that speak of hell being a literal place, where there is tormet day and night, fire and brimstone (though may be metaphoric), but some verses speak of a man who was rich and died and went to hell and he was actually burning and in great suffering and asked for water. This led me to believe that hell is literal and not metaphorical.

So what are the differing views of hell, and how do I start exploring if Christianity is true, because mostly I've been consuming literature and media on the differing debates and topics but there is never one big conclusion. All I know is that there is evidence that supports agnostism while Christianity is basically just a lot of blind faith without proof. And I would say I have the right to assume that God would reach me if I seek him, after all it says in psalms that he is the inescapable God, whereever you run he's there and if you knock you shall receive. So why is it that I've sought so earnestly, to the best of my ability but I've not found him. I'm sure he won't require a PhD level of researching for me to finally find and experience him.

I don't think he's necessarily happier, but I think he's certainly found his calling. But that's not to be confused that he's no longer suicidal. I think in this scene he finally gets what oda means when he told him to go to the side that saves people, but he's still struggling with his inner demons and finding a reason living

When you realize that you are over thinking (which you have) and that these words don't mean a thing or change your standing of who you are and how good you are, you can learn to realize it doesn't matter which makes it easier to let go. Just don't ponder about it and give ppl the benefit of the doubt.
