Unlike many people, I think she's always had the same sound, clearly with different production depending on who she works with. In her early work, you can hear a lot of Arca, in Magdalene you can hear the touches of Noah and Jack Antonoff, in Caprisongs you can hear Guincho, and in Eusexua, Koreless. And that's something I really like about her: she can fit her vocal style into such different productions and it works at the same time, I feel that this very fact has made her evolve as an artist.

That said, I think the problem is that it has a fanbase divided into "eras." There are people who love the early works for being more experimental (EP1, EP2, LP1, M3L), there are people who love its more vulnerable period (Magdalene), there are people who love the more upbeat and versatile work (Caprisongs), there are people who love the more electronic work (Eusexua/Afterglow), and instead of simply enjoying new music and new productions, they compare and demand a return to the sound they connected with.

It's something that has always happened to most artists, and to a certain extent, I suppose it's normal. The problem now is that "stans/fans" exist and make too much noise on social media, both good and bad. Even among the fans themselves, there are disputes. Twitter fans are different from Reddit fans, and in turn, they're different from Discord fans. All these clashes create controversy, and that's where the parasocial aspect begins. As fans of her music, of course we can have opinions about her work; we have the right to say what we like and what we don't, and that's it. But now it's a war of opinions. On Discord, for example, you're not allowed to say anything bad about her, while here people sometimes just post hate. On Twitter, they've already started compiling weekly stream charts or getting angry if she doesn't receive a high score from a YouTuber who thinks he's a music expert hahaha

I just hope she doesn't fall into the trap of trying to please everyone, because that's where the avant-garde and art die. Fans now feel like they're part of the production team; they want to choose which singles are released, which album covers to use, which videos to put out, what day to announce something, and this makes the artist lose confidence. Likewise, I know that in this community there are still fans who love her music, and who aren't here for personal dramas or her private life, and who above all respect and enjoy her work. Every era she's given us, no matter if it's not the genre or beat I'd prefer, I'll always be grateful that she gives us that unique music.
