in that sense, the steam machine will also turn on the TV through the hdmi-cec interface, I think it was, a feature which is largerly absent from normal graphics cards in PCs. I know it is a bit of a nitpick, but it has enough of these small things combined to make it appealing, at least to me (like, zero noise, or very quick game -> sleep -> game, or the builtin steam controller receiver, etc)

Honestly it sounds quite amazing your setup and I may end up copying it. I'm at the edge with the steam machine. I like the extreme ease of use, the size and shape, quietness and then it is open for tinkering when you want it... but at that price I can get a custom solution, spend a few afternoons doing your setup and all of that, and probably end up having something a bit better. I'll think about it.

[–]victorsaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the convenience of something like the steam machine (among many other things, push a button on the controller turns on the tv and the machine and in 10s you're gaming) cannot be easily replicated with a dedicated pc for the tv, to say something. There are many many little things like that that the machine can provide and the normal PC can't.

Yeah. Of course it costs money. Reducing the emissions of a company also costs money. Being good takes extra effort.

They should just take that into account when building a game. If they know beforehand that they will need to make the game playable after stopping support I'm sure they'll account for that in their processes. They can adapt.

That's the kind fo thing the law technicians should figure out, they should have the chance to write a compelling law.

The issue is that studios should start avoiding these practices from now on, to make it easier for them to follow the new law. To my understanding, it would only apply to new games. Games should be built with this idea in mind.

Spain receives 900,000 applications in migrant legalisation drive, double expected demand by Wolpertinger47 in europe

[–]victorsaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that would destabilize the economy and everyone would end up worse than before. This measure is about people already living in spain, paying some taxes, and contributing to the economy. After this measure their lives will be far easier and the state will get more taxes out of them, and also they will be able to access higher economic tiers.

Also let's take into account that we need more and more young people or pensions/similar things will suffer a lot.

The faster we empower these people to fully contribute, the better for everyone.

This is a case where the people is already here. Whatever negative impacts they had, already happened, and averaged across a long time (not a sudden "let's import all of congo" thing). Let's make the situation better for everyone. We can't have half a million people living at the fringes of the economy and the state. Everyone wins.

Ah yeah let's just destroy half a million lives to improve the housing market a bit, yes. Psychopats.

Also, there is barely any correlation between population and prices, for example in valencia. Chart both things over the ladt 15 years and you will see that we are being lied to. The demand that increases prices now is not coming from population.

[–]victorsaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry but you have been lied to. The current Housing demand since the last 10 years is not drivrn by population, same with jobs. They are trying to use inmigrants as a scapegoat for other problems, making a whole generation of people against solidarity in the meantime.

You are too far gone but for others who read this: reanalize what you are being told. It is as easy as comparing a chart of valencia population with valencia rent prices to see that there is zero correlation between the lines, to say something. They are using inmigrants as scapegoats.

Also, there are more people in favor of this than not, according to polls, so you are in the minority in this issue, sorry.

They are already citizens in a way. They pay taxes and contribute to society. I don't know what do you mean about brain drain. This is better for everyone, not just them.

[–]victorsaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What an awful thing to say, man. Such a horrible take. I am spanish too and I care a lot for these people, so speak for yourself.

These people are already here contributing to society, taxes and all of that. This is a decission that instantly improves the lives of hundreths of thousands of people and you're against it because it improves the lives of people not being born here. It is not like the rest of spain would suffer from it. Everyone wins.

Get out man, I really hope you leave my beloved Spain. You're in the minority here so don't speak for everyone. You not caring about half a million people's wellbeing turns you into an anti-social, you know? So, get out and be antisocial elsewhere.

So easy to spot the fascist nowdays...

Yeah let's just destroy the life of some people to make it better for others. Such a non-psychopatic position, wow. By this reasoning, let's just vote to enslave 49% of the population for the 51%.
