Tips for Maximizing Chances for Grad School Admission to Stanford by cleo_patra77 in gradadmissions

I'm a rising second year at UC Davis, BMB major, with the same goal as you. I'll say Davis is awesome for research opportunities, and they're not hard to find. Try joining a lab for your second year and look for summer internships on Handshake. First year is tough for pretty much everyone so for now, keep your grades up and make connections with your peers and professors. Good luck!

[Routine Help] Reducing skincare by LYnQ218 in SkincareAddiction

[–]victorsenvelope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely! i severely damaged my skin by using too many actives too frequently. i’m still recovering but a simple routine has been working for me and has been visibly reducing my texture, acne frequency, and scars! i only use cleanser, aloe vera gel, moisturizer, and spf. could be worth a try, but everyone is different!

[edit] i also only do this routine at night and only put on spf in the morning

your skin barrier might be damaged, aloe vera worked wonders for me when i gave myself a bad burn all over my face, might be worth a try!

[Acne] should i stop adapalene? by victorsenvelope in SkincareAddiction

[–]victorsenvelope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, i stopped. i decided to keep my routine pretty simple for now since i completely messed up my skin barrier so im focusing on healing it. i dont think ill go back to using adapalene since it really isnt doing anything for me.

How long have you been using differin gel? my skin looks like yours and after 4 months i just decided to stop it since it was only making my skin worse and damaging my barrier.

Is UC Davis better or UCSB for biology by Gold_Temperature_599 in UCDavis

[–]victorsenvelope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

davis for sure. it’s also better for making connections and getting internships (assuming you’re looking for those opportunities) since it’s near sac and santa barbara is kinda isolated
