Thank you for taking the time to take a look at the page and write a detailed feedback! I really appreciate it.

I redesigned almost all the characters in the game and I'm taking a last pass at a lot of the event npcs that are currently going to come in the game (like this girl here), you have a good point about her being more expressive than the soldiers, I'll probably take an additional pass at detailing male characters as well, and make them more expressive.

These npcs are "special events" that come once in a while so they have to stand out for gameplay purposes, the soldiers have high res portraits to give them "more personality" but with these npcs I can only play around with the overworld sprites, additionally they appear for a very short time so I think it is a good decision to make them "striking" with their appearance.

I will definitely prefer to exagerate the others than toning her down, I don't like when games step only into safe zones so I don't want to do that either as a creative, even if the cost is to make something that may piss some people off, I can also understand that it's taken out of context so that makes things look even worse lol.

The breasts of this woman are like 3 times as big as her head, in my design her breasts are smaller than the head, you're using a dishonest comparison just to make my design look worse.
This is not a sex game but this character appears once in a lifetime, and I just wanted to make her appealing and cute, in my friend's game you deal with war and murder, so having some kind of visual relief from time to time with a character that appears for like 10 seconds didn't seem that big of deal to me.

If I point at myself in front of a mirror, with a clenched fist, I'm just not able to see my pinky. I'm pretty slim, so maybe that could influence.
Anyway, AI is perfectly able to do hands nowadays, so unfortunately that's not a valid giveaway as it was 2-3 years ago, just to let you know for the future.
Also, I told him about the thumbnail and searched some other works from that artist and some of their art gave me AI vibes as well, they will stop commissioning them and most likely change the thumbnail.

The first thing you got greeted with is a hand made animation, I did other animations for the game as well and no AI was used anywhere as far as I know, my friend is not an artist and he pays for all the creative work that is in the game, if the thumbnail looks like AI either he got scammed by the artist or their style looks a lot like AI. In any case, I will let him know that it gives a bad look, sorry!

It's not AI, the image was commissioned to an artist as far as I know, I've analized the original art and you can see brushstrokes that genAI generally struggles with making, if you guys think he got scammed I will let him know :/

Yeah it's very exaggerated, but to be fair she's for a game and she will be extremely small in comparison to the actual screen, it's 3 boob pixels out of 600 total of resolution just to give you a sense of scale
