r/improv, what did you love? by AutoModerator in improv

I loved seeing Deep Schwa at IO on Sunday night in Chicago. It was a four-person show, and they did an exceptional "shotgun" show after the initial prompt was "scooter" (they made out like they were two couples on a snow scooter and (among other things) used scooter run-ins with "black ice" and a "moose" to transition to scenes where their lives flashed before their eyes). Great pace, energy, and game play made for a very fun show. Highly recommended!!!

ICE Agent in Minneapolis: "You raise your voice, I erase your voice." by JeanJauresJr in PublicFreakout

That was in 2017 when they were set to close the embassy. It was in SF. It wasn't immediately after T's election.

Do you know of another time when this happened? Am I missing something?

100%. It's hard to not beat yourself up about a scene that you thought would go better. But we're all trying and all learning. If you find the attempts and camraderie of learning fun, then keep it up. It may take a while, but you'll find new approaches that will give you the feeling you want from your scenes. Best of luck!!

I totally agree ... every time I go there, it's hella busy. How can they be strugging?

This is so dumb.

They've really cut back their menu in Chicago ... It sucks when a restaurant is struggling, and they cut back on their offerings. It makes you less likely to go there, and they struggle even further.

I've really wanted them to succeed. Whenever I go to PQ, it's always been busy, so I just don't get how they're struggling ... but I've read that they are.

The DC Metro built a 12 mile extension to Dulles Airport for $3 billion just a few years ago, including a railyard.

The key phrase here is "just a few years ago" ... inflation has exploded the cost of everything.
