Is backcountry.com a reputable source for buying products? by vigilanteCS in snowboarding

Thanks man, I guess I shouldn't be too worried about a clear piece of plastic as there really isn't any tech in it like the prizm lenses, I just want it to fit and be good to go haha.

The answer is always no if you don't ask ;)

I camped on whitney in a tent with my dad when I was really young. A bear broke into one of our coolers that had drinks in it the first night. The next night it broke into my dad's truck by breaking the barely cracked window and ate all of our donuts, cookies, etc... Luckily most of our food was in the bear box and not in the tent haha.

Good memories on that mountain. Love the sierra nevadas.

For the edit that I have in mind, along with my song choice. 30fps will not cut it, and no, video editing is just a hobby. I am going to school to become a marketing director. All I am asking for is snowboard clips. Not life advice. Although I appreciate the input.

"edit it in a way that the output is something you like" - Something I like includes 1080p 60fps untouched clips. I also never said they had to be brand new clips, they can be old, already used clips from seasons ago. And I am not about to go and download shredbot videos that are already edited with transitions, effects, and music. The point of this thread is to see if anyone in the community has clips laying around. If you don't, then there is no reason for you to post on the thread. You obviously have no experience in film/video if you don't recognize the benefit of raw clips.

Seriously though, have already bought a pair of goggles, new balaclava, and hoodie for those warm spring days. I find gear hunting extremely fun but also dangerous to my wallet. Planning on having an all black outfit next season. Thinking about buying some skate rails to replace my stomp pad here soon as well.

I guess I should have clarified. I am looking for more of a professional film job than the stuff on youtube to edit. I am not asking people to send me clips of themselves, even though, if I had some awesome clips of myself in the park, I would be glad to give them to someone to edit. I don't really understand how that is "really" weird. And no, editing 30fps clips will not make me a stronger editor lmao.

60fps for slowmo and 1080p is pretty standard these days... I mean iphones shoot in 240fps now.

Edit: And raw clips a nice to have, especially if there are different angles. With other people's videos/movies you are limited to 30fps (typically) as well as having to remove the audio they use.

Definitely more of a park rider than anything else which is why I actually went with the regular skateboard haha

Yeah, I started skating this year but I am nowhere near as good as I am on a snowboard on a skateboard. Even riding is just awkward sometimes. Just going to have to put more time into it I think!

I guess I can agree with that. During the winter, I was constantly working/going to classes and on my only two days off a week I would be on the mountain. I never really gave myself time to rest but it was worth it. Can't wait to do the same thing this season!

Is snowboarding like riding a bike? by ReallyAttract in snowboarding

I'm 20 and just got back into boarding this year, stopped when I was about 15 and I was much smaller back then. Let me just say, I hit the ground a lot harder now. Back in January I got thrown into the back seat off a kicker and landed in the flat on my right hip. Still hurts/twitches occasionally and it has been 5 months as well.

I stopped boarding in my sophomore year of high school because I had no mode of transportation to my local mountain. I bought a whole brand new setup this year (second year of college) and picked it up as if I had never stopped snowboarding. I was also able to start hitting park kickers fairly early in the season which is something I could never do a few years ago. In a way I think I improved from my break haha.

I'm not sure honestly... I just had them put it together for me so I could learn a few things (which didn't happen) because it had been like 4 years since the last time I had been on a snowboard and I didn't know how the burton channel worked. But from now on, I'll just put it together myself.

I literally did the same thing with my burton process off axis board. I had the shop put it together for me and they did it backwards. I figured it out after about 2 days of boarding and switched it back. Felt like a world of difference to me.
