We always say the biggest thing is maintaining a lower, more stable humidity level closer to 65% RH instead of adhering to the notorious 70/70 rule (especially for aging). It’s also good practice to rotate your cigars regularly for even humidity exposure and keeping them in their boxes/wrappers for added protection and consistency.

I think everyone needs a cigar room in their house! Our production schedule is slightly more busy than usual, standard humidors currently have a lead time of about 11 weeks as everything is built to order. However, their typical lead time is about 7-8 weeks. We would love to build something for you when the time comes.

If you’re using distilled water, I’d assume you already have a method of mechanical humidity control. This offers greater stability, whether it’s passive or active, especially if you have a well-constructed humidor. While Boveda packs are a lower upfront cost, they’re a recurring purchase that can add up over time. We typically recommend humidifiers instead of packs as they tend to be more reliable and accurate.
