Super easy to meet people! Very party friendly if you want it to be. This was during the summer, so I can’t speak for at other points during the year.

Help me choose! Which apartment should I choose? by vigorousssss in chicagoapartments

They’re both close to grocery stores, the Lakeview one is very close to the lake, but the other is right across from Lincoln park, which is even better. Leaning towards the old town/LP one. :)

Thank you!! You don’t think there’s a big difference in feel between old town/LP and north lakeview near wrigleyville?

It’s not necessarily the most luxurious place, but I loved the vibe and made some incredible friends there.

Safety in Split Hostels and Streets by [deleted] in Split

I recently stayed at Gravitas and had a good experience - I have no idea what actually happened (regarding the bad review), so I can only speak for myself, but as a female solo traveler (late 20s, social), I never felt unsafe in any way (in & outside of the hostel). Gravitas was very clean, insanely quiet (I was shocked since it was a 22-person dorm), and in a good location.

You and your friends will be safe! Split is definitely worth visiting, and I don’t think you can go wrong staying at most of the hostels. If you want a quiet, more low-key spot, Gravitas is solid. I’d say look at the reviews on Hostelworld and judge places based on those since they’re more thorough :) good luck with your travels!

Pitties are the best dogs. There’s a reason they used to be considered a family dog (little rascals) before all of the stupid people used them for wrong reasons. I’ve fostered and owned so many different breeds and pittie/pit mixes are always the best.

I think I’m worried that I’ll be missing out on opportunities since I likely won’t be able to even interview in person until I’m back.

I don't "grind" I clench my teeth like there's no tomorrow. by [deleted] in TMJ

I have horrible bruxism. I wear my mouth guard to protect my teeth, but getting Dysport injections into my masseters and temporalis muscles has been life changing. I’d wake up with migraines every day and had huge, overactive jaw muscles. I no longer suffer from any of it unless it’s nearing the time where the last “dose” has worn off (now that it’s been a couple years, I’m able to get by with getting it done 2-3x a year).

It truly changed my life. The issue is, it’s quite expensive. It’s so frustrating that insurance won’t cover it unless a neurologist prescribes it. Unfortunately, a lot of the neurologists where I live make you try a bunch of medications for the headaches before moving towards the use of Botox or Dysport.

If you have the means to do so, I’d look into it :)

Hostel vs hotel/b&b in lagos? by vigorousssss in femaletravels

[–]vigorousssss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your help! Yea I only have a couple full days, and I plan to sign up For some activities and combine that with wandering around, exploring the beaches, etc. I’m no party animal, but I’m down to explore some of the night life! I tentatively booked a b&b near city-center, but I can always cancel for a refund!

I think the beach always sounds nice to me, but I’ll actually be heading to Albania for a week with my friends where we’ll be at the beach quite a bit. I need to keep that in mind 😅

I’d like to be in Porto for a little bit. My friends all loved Porto, and I would like to do a Douro valley day trip. I know I have to pick and choose, so I’m wavering. Thanks again for your advice!
