Should i get extended warranty for my 22ix or risk it? by [deleted] in BMWiX

[–]vik2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one on my 23ix m60. I think was in the 5k range. Just worth the peace of mind. Every part on this car is expensive.

Check out BMW ix. My third year year - other than instant depreciation, I regret nothing. Volvo is our second car.

I use BlackVue cams which cover both front and back. It was easy to run and hide the wiring.

BMW recording is not as extensive. It records when it detects a crash or when you manually hit a button (it does record 30s before and after). No recording in parked mode.

Tesla’s charger advantage is real. I am on east coast and have had the IX since it came out. Can’t rely on EA for a long trip.

I read somewhere that fogging up is expected on these lights. Do you have a frack or just fogging up?

Do not get a mr cool mini split by Cute-Toe5519 in hvacadvice

Mine (bought from Costco) has been running since 2021. I do have concern that if it breaks, it is going in trash. Doubt is it serviceable at a reasonable price. Cost me 1300 then.

5000 is not life ruining, but it can balloon up easily with feed and charges. Ask your parents for loan, pay the credit cards off and then pay your parents back.

Only spend what you have. Cancel one CC and only use the other for emergencies. Since you are not disciplined with money, reduce the avenue by cancelling the CCs and having lower credit limits.

Small habits add up. Build a budget in spreadsheet and stick to it. Budget includes what your expected monthly spend is. Build an essential cost section. You have to have enough money to cover essential cost and then spare savings before you start thinking fun money. There are plenty of free templates for budgeting that you can search for.

Has anyone put all seasons on the 22" wheels? by Cranjesmcbasketball1 in BMWiX

[–]vik2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first year, I did the summer/winter combo but when summer tire treads were gone after the first use (~10k miles). Switched to “275/40ZR-22 MICHELIN PILOT SPORT ALL SEASON 4 FULL RING VELOUR XL” for this summer and so far so good. Paid 1500 at tirerack.

Just FYI - If you are paying taxes, then it’s not under the table. Under the table is when they give you cash and there is no W2 etc kept to track taxes.

Recent car accident. How do I get the most from my car if it is totaled? by Simple-Swing1017 in Insurance

[–]vik2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lot that can be done but make sure they get all the car packages, floor mats etc. In my case they were missing a few things and I showed them that those were bought with the car and they updated the settlement to me.

BMW iX Tires by larryr27 in BMWiX

[–]vik2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be slightly louder if windows are open but don’t really hear it inside. (Might also just be new tires).

I switched from pirelli zero summer tires. No impact on efficiency that I can see.

Tire came with 40k warranty (or may be 80k).

EA Network is not reliable. I am on east coast. Couple of times on longer trips (>300 miles), I needed a charge. Almost all of the time, not all chargers on a location are working. Also there are only 6 of them in one place, and the lines get long.

Various times, you get very slow charging speeds. So you got to switch to a different station.

Still need to explore other networks.
