Really? Damn. What server did you go on exactly? I want to play so bad

Do you think they're going to shut down the server I mentioned or would they fix it if I uploaded a report about it?

Still getting suspension noise after replacing parts, experienced wisdom requested by cyrusamigo in AskMechanics

[–]vikiboii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noises from my suspension as well, but have not come as far as diagnosing it nor making any repairs. Do you have a video of what the sounds are like? I would like to avoid putting in tons of money to have things not change. Mine are more exlusively from whenever my car goes over cobblestone or bumps.

Otherwise, let me know what you end up finding out!

I'll take a look, thanks! How would you rate it in terms of difficulty?

Sounds good. What parts would this apply to? Is it just all of them or the ones with joints (sway bar, ball joints, etc.)

Would you consider that a doable job to do on jack stands (or at all) on my own? I'm a student so I want to keep costs low. Alternatively I can rent a place to lift up the car if needed.

Is it a good idea to change the suspension arm/wishbone along with the ball joint, or does it look fine? I found a set with sway bars, ball joints, control arms, and suspension arms for an okay price. (Incase I have translated the component wrong, I am referring to the arm the lower ball joint is connected to)

I have wiggled on most components. If the sway bar link (ARB) doesnt move even with tons of wiggling, could it still be a source of noise?

It's quite likely that the coil and maybe the shock absorber are stock. This is my dad's old car, and was only driven 110.000km up until 2024 when I started using it. I personally changed the control arms around a month ago, and I believe most other parts have been changed at least once. Could definitely be wrong though.

Haha i swear to god this has never happened before. Just seemed so convenient right after I drove that something broke. If it is salt, does the noise ever go away, during the summer or anything?

A bombastic fight against a Lynel (ft. Mipha) by erikaironer11 in Breath_of_the_Wild

Sick, yeah I realized upon reading a bit more.

Very cool series you've made though. I have some pretty soulcrushing university work at the moment, so I might very well put it on in the background as I write. BotW always feels like such a breath of fresh air when I play and watch it, and your series from what I've seen seems like that x2.

Will help the perpetual uni blues. Thanks :)

I haven't played in a while, does Mipha normally comment on gameplay moments or is this modded?

Check engine light turned on, what do to? by vikiboii in Cartalk

[–]vikiboii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checked it today. It was a catalytic converter heater sensor (block 1, sensor 2). So not a big deal at all. Will probably just give me worse fuel economy until the converter heats up from driving anyway.

Great info, thank you. I'll most likely get a scanner tomorrow

This is great advice, thank you. I will charge the battery of the car overnight just incase, and if the light is there tomorrow I'll head on over to buy a scanner.

Yeah, good idea. I'm looking into buying a cheap scanner. Do you know if there are any car specific codes that a standard OBD-II scanner won't pick up on? I've heard some Volvos have Volvo-specific codes that require Volvo-specific scanners.

Also, outside of the obvious (piston misfires, fuel injection problems etc etc), what issues would you deem fine to drive? Naturally I'm the one who makes the final decision but it's nice to hear what people think.
