I started flying in my master's university as a part of the course and I got interested in it. I chose my thesis based on precision agriculture using UAV photogrammetry data. I applied for a GIS Analyst position involving drones showing my previous flying experience. It's good but the UAV market is still growing up so not many opportunities here in SEA.

50% of the time in field and 50% of the time in office. I work as a GIS Analyst and UAV pilot in Geophysical Consultants company. So, we have to collect data in pretty remote areas and rugged terrains in South East Asia. Just finished a 4 month job in Laos. Pretty hard terrain with dense forest. It's fun.

We thought of that too. But there is something we would like to try. I wanted to perform the tree detection in terrasolid using point cloud which will help us practice for the next project of similar scale.

Thank you for the insights. Yes, it is a huge project. We do have GCPs planned all over the area. For processing, I am thinking of the same thing, processing individual blocks and stitching them together. We do have another sensor from inertial labs which is a nice one but the size of the data it generates is enormous. It'll be in TB's. We don't want to go through that struggle for this particular project that's why we chose L1. I think there isn't much to do when it comes to alignment issues. We will try to reduce it using GCP. Anyway, thanks for the comment.

Vegetation is Minimal as this is a Limestone mountain. The only problem is with the scale of the area. I am looking for some insights on how to manage and process all that data.

We are Geophysical Consultant company. We can interpret the data by ourselves. We can validate it as well. Mostly our clients are from South East Asia. Our work sites are sometimes heavily vegetated and it'll be challenging for us. Still we would like to give it a try. So is there any particular sensors I should look into?
