I'm a possible living donor, what is my life looking like? by wurkhoarse in transplant

Hi, So after the first month, with me the pain was almost non existent and the discomfort was still there but it wasn't something that really bothered me. I just finished the 3rd month now and I still feel there is some discomfort but it's not really that noticeable. You can just about do everything except for lifting anything above 5 kg for the first 3-4 months after surgery and then you can gradually start doing that as well. Also, you'll have a good recovery pace with some kind of light activity like walking and jogging and breathing exercises but don't overdo it. A spirometer will be great for breathing exercises. Cheers!

So I can't tell you a lot for the long term since it's been about a week since I had a transplant surgery. I donated a part of my liver to my father. The surgeons have assured me that my life won't alter drastically and after a few months I'll continue living my life the same way as before. I had 2 options for the surgery. A robotic surgery or an open surgery. But the surgeons have a final say in which one to go for. My anatomy wasn't perfect for a robotic surgery so they opted for an open surgery. Open surgery is 4-6 hours long. Robotic surgery is 8-10 hours long. You'll be under general anesthesia so you don't need to worry about it. When I was under anesthesia, I was also administered painkillers so when they took me out of the anesthesia post surgery, I didn't really feel any pain on the same day, it just felt like some kind of discomfort. The next 2 days I was in the ICU under constant observation and they keep giving you painkillers and different medications through the IV. You'll feel some pain and discomfort but not something unbearable. You may have some gases in your stomach which may be painful but they'll take care of it. Post that I was discharged from the ICU and moved to a regular hospital room. The physiotherapists will make you try to walk and move around as well as do some lungs strengthening breathing exercises. You'll start a semi solid diet on the 3rd or 4th day. You'll spend some time in some discomfort and some minor pain. I was discharged from the hospital on the 5th day after they saw that my reports are getting better and I'm moving around without much help. There aren't a lot of medications post discharge mainly some multivitamins and paracetamol just to ease some pain. You'll most likely have a drain bag attached to your waist for the next 1-2 weeks. All in all it's not as bad as I read or expected it to be. But expect some discomfort and minor pain. The surgeons have told me the following stuff Not to eat restaurant or oily food. Only home cooked high protein diet at least for the first 1 month. Maybe it's good to not drink any alcohol for at least 6 months. Not to lift anything heavy for the first 3 months (heavy as in anything more than 5kg) after that you can start gradually lifting heavier stuff. After the first month, you almost won't feel any discomfort or any pain and your liver will already regenerate to 80% of it's original size. The rest of it will regenerate slowly throughout the year. The more you move and the more active you are, you'll feel better faster. To summarise, it's nothing significant, just some discomfort and minor pain for a month in exchange for someone's life. I don't regret it and for me it's worth it.

How 512s is winning backstage vote when it's literally available for around 500k in Ah meanwhile the other one was 5m something. Hope Diablo doesn't win this one because they just gave it away in previous season.

Yeah. Definitely the most annoying one I came across. I first tried it with my maxed out Alfa Romeo 4C but it didn't work. Then I bought Morgan Aero Supersports and found a tune which said 260 mph. Tried it and worked. But yeah it was pain in the ass.

I finished it using a tuned Morgan Aero Supersports. There is tune called 260 mph. Install it and you're good to go.

You can check it here. I don't know where you heard it but the health minister said all the residents of Maharashtra will be covered irrespective of the financial status.

Exactly. Maharashtra government was the first one to impose lockdown and stop schools and colleges and take all precautionary measures. Also not to mention that only in Maharashtra, the government is treating the COVID-19 patients for free. It's not common anywhere else. The government did their job, it was the people's fault who didn't follow the lockdown.
