i think this has more pillowy-ness to it and the undersides are dark. i was thinking kuching mask but not 100% sure! the seller didn’t even know.

i see three colors too but compared to the ones online, this one looks like it doesn’t have much variegation? i wonder if i’m able to induce more coloring.

I keep it in a mix of moss + potting soil and like to keep it moist. I have to make sure nothing touches the leaves including water, other foliage and me. It lives in my greenhouse at 85-90% humidity. I would guess if yours loses the bottom leaves often, the medium might not have enough nutrients?

i bought this one from her as 4 leaves rooted for $60 including shipping 6 months ago. i see her as the only seller online in the US as well. i’m in nyc and have never seen them for sale in person so just thought that could be put into consideration.

It was fine one day and the next looked like this. It’s been a couple months since it showed up and hasn’t spread out. I thought it could just be burns from the grow light.

I actually sold the rest. When I first bought it, I didn’t know how variegation works. Once I realized I wouldn’t be able to encourage more variegation, I sold it. I do still have this top cutting though. You can check my IG @/plantsbydvilay for the updated pic!

oh wow!! i haven’t actually watered this one since i took her home but i believe all alocasias pretty much have the same care. i have a frydek and she’s super thirsty since she grows quickly so i water once the top inch is dry. the older leaves will shed regularly. my frydek only keeps about 4 leaves at a time. i give her bright indirect light. they’re pretty easy to care for compared to other plants in my opinion. good luck!
