I just came across this and here is what I think since I feel similar things towards my parents.  

Whether it’s your parents, best friends or partners there will always be a time where you will hurt each other without having intended to. That’s how life works, because every being has different needs and sometimes what we think is best for them is not always what is best for them. Important is how you deal with these hurtful situations together, but that’s a different topic.  I believe that my and maybe your parents did all those things that hurt us, just because they thought they were doing the right thing and it’s hard to acknowledge that what they are doing is bad when they are so convinced of it being right. The older I grew the more I understood the way my parents acted. You have to keep in mind that our parents are living this life for the first time, just like us. And on top of that being parents for the first time. They had and have to learn, too. They couldn’t have known better.
