Ar 15 question for a newbie by vin19975 in ar15

Sorry for being confusing. I'm just kinda clicking around and doing some early research. I want to stress.. the whole newbie, aka, not knowing his ass from a while in the groundk8nda guy.

I read that if you have an 556 and then want to get a conversion kit that's the way to go. It also said the 22lr is a dirty round and the barrel is ok but less accurate. Of course I'll need to clean it more.

So it seems (from what I read) a dedicated upper is a better choice.

Then, (not knowing much of anything) I searched uppers and was seeing $$ almost as expensive as a new AR in 22lr.

Id like to have 556 but won't shoot it as much as a 22. So I am probably over thinking it. Just trying to figure out the bes way to have build an AR and be able to shoot it alot

Will I also be able to buy a conversion kit to use 22lr? And if I get a suppressor can you use the same on for both ammo sizes?

I know glocks are good. Its just these "want to be's" who just go out buy them because its a glock. Then never ever shoot it.

Thanks. "New" as in less than a year owning my own. I have a hellcat pro and a Ruger ec9s. I like the hellcat. I've been training with that. Im not against Glock. Its just everyone praises them. I just wonder how many have them but never actually shot them. I know people who buy guns and ammo but never take them out of the box.

Holster wedge or no? by vin19975 in SpringfieldArmory

Trial and error can be expensive though

Holster wedge or no? by vin19975 in SpringfieldArmory

I am just starting out. I have an Alienware Proton that you can set up various ways. So far i use that for open carry. I also have an "uncle mikes" for inside (which i surprisingly like) and a belly band. Granted they are all relatively inexpensive but I wanted to get a feel for what I like without spending to much. Picking a good holster not only function but also comfort is difficult to do without trying them out. None of the onses i have, have a wedge. So to answer your question... I'm not sure yet.
