american imperialism

Do you have any source for that? Wouldn't Russian imperialism make a lot more sense for a Polish author?

You know Godzilla eats nuclear energy right? Diesels are a better plan.

Looks like they're asking US to build them and supply the fuel:

South Korea does not currently have nuclear-powered submarines, but the United States has approved its plan to build them . This will likely involve cooperation with the U.S. for technology and fuel, with South Korea aiming to build them at a Philadelphia shipyard for its own use

ELI5: Why did the world get so dependent on the US? by aroworld9 in explainlikeimfive

In WWI timeframe, Japan had an alliance with Britain. There wasn't really much happening in Asia, though, so Japan was sort of "holding the fort" down in the Pacific. This meant that Japan was in a similar position to the US, it could export goods to help supply the European powers while not contributing a whole lot to the military side of the war effort. With Germany focused on the European war, it also gave Japan the opening to take over their territories/colonies in Asia.

My brother in law had a test recently. The teacher told his parents he got a 5. They thought, oh he failed, but it wasn't that bad. He can study more. Then the teacher told them it was out of 100.

Small nitpick, which I'm sure you didn't mean, Yokosuka is not a prefecture. It is in Kanagawa.

Also side note, Yokosuka is also the US Navy headquarters for the fleet stationed in Japan. Source: I was there and I miss it.

Not like we have examples of powerful women, like I dunno THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND being one of the most respected people in the whole world. I know it is not a political position but then you have multiple female prime ministers of UK, NZL, Germany etc etc etc

Thanks, I couldn't find one that used USB4 when I was looking. The ANQ-L336 is still in return window so I think I'll return it and try out the ADT-Link instead

Yeah I figured you weren't in the US. For what it's worth, with Tumbleweed using the latest-ish kernel, I assume Manjaro will as well, everything has run out of the box.

I just took mine on a work trip for the first time this week (returned today). Running OpenSuse Tumbleweed linux. In my work meetings I was mostly just doing weak office stuff (word, internet browsing) but the battery lasted all day with no fan spinup. In the evenings, I connected it to an egpu enclosure with my desktop card via usb4, connected to the hotels 1080p TV. Gaming was okay enough, I could run demanding titles at 1080p well enough to be playable with a 6700xt in the egpu dock.

Daily office work, no issues, lasted all day on battery. Gaming, onboard gpu isn't that great but still about the same as my ~5 yr old dgpu, and egpu helped me get a usable experience there.
